Placement Coordinator, Youth Program 

Location: Bangalore

Roles & Responsibilities:

Industry Relationship and Partnership Development:

  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with relevant industries and businesses at state and central level
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Document some of the good practices of industry engagement with ITI, state and central govts, so these can serve as model for replications
  • Facilitate regular communication between ITIs and industry partners.
  • creating opportunities for exposure visits for learners and educators
  • Support for Landscape study with research team and Training and help team to drive it in states

Providing Work Transition (Placement & Self Employment) support to Industrial Training Institutes, Polytechnics and Vocational Training Institutes :

  • Ensuring support to program implementation partners to organize Industry engagement activities effectively and monitoring the same.
  • Building capacity of Placement officers of program implementation partners to plan and organize placement-related activities at their institutes.
  • Planning and organizing training for Placement officers

Orientation on placement systems and best practices.

Anchoring and Executing Work Transition (Placement & Self Employment)strategies & plans in the region

  • Making an annual plan and calendar of placement activities in the region by collaborating with regional teams.
  • Planning and Conducting Employer engagement events.
  • Anchor Placement Officers engage through regular calls and review meetings.
  • Planning and Conducting Employer engagement events Including placement fairs.
  • Enable state to conduct placement related activities like job fair, placement drive, guest lectures etc.

Design Strategy and Implementation for Alumni Tracking and Support Alumni & Family Engagement

  • Using a constructive approach, designing and developing the strategy for Alumni tracking for the region to understand the learner's mindset and impact post-completion of the program.
  • Implementation of Alumni tracking through ICF, Intern, Placement cell at ITI, and Partners across ITI & VTI.
  • Support program team on Alumni & Family Engagement at Women ITI in session delivery or Industry support.
  • Build the capacity of the program team on key placement session delivery.

Relationship Building

  • Building an active working relationship with representatives of companies, Industry bodies and Placement officers.
  • Building a robust database of employers by networking with employers and industry bodies to make it available to program implementation partners.

Team Management 

  • You may have to manage interns or fellows in the program as relevant
  • Ensure they have clear performance objectives and development plans. 
  • Support, mentor and coach them as part of their professional development and help them to be highly effective in their work. 
  • Serve as a role model at all times 
  • Ensure human resource policy and procedure is adhered to by the team
  • Ensure their welfare with support from the People team
  • Lead the recruitment and induction of them 

Reporting

  • Timely submission of Monthly & Quarterly donor report
  • Consolidating the placement and workshop reports
  • Submitting reports on time for review meetings and entering the details in the database in a timely manner
  • Be available for regular line management meetings and the appraisal processes

Ensure all the relevant data is available on time

Qualifications & Skill:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in the placement of candidates at the Fresher level of an NGO or of Technical institutes. 
  • Knowledge of liasioning with companies and experience in industry connect including the role of placement of students within organizations. 
  • Previous experience in customer/client contact especially establishing and developing effective links with companies in the relevant discipline/field. 
  • Experience in working & training young adults for Jobs, OJT etc. 
  • Good computer skills ie good at Data analysis. 

Attributes: 

Must be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the placements service

Willing to undertake external visits & should be open to traveling

Must be a team player and be able to negotiate and consult with all those engaged internally and externally within the placement space

Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 58,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
