Position Title: Part-Time English Education Instructor

Organization: Pahal Foundation

Location: Skill Building Centre, Faridabad, Haryana

Employment Type: Part-Time

Contract Duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension based on performance)

Reporting To: Program Manager, Skill Building Centre

1. Background

Pahal Foundation is a community-based organization working to empower marginalized and underserved communities of transgender and gender diverse communities through various skill development and educational initiatives. The Skill Building Centre in Faridabad aims to enhance the employability and communication skills of transgender and gender diverse communities. English language proficiency is a key focus area for personal and professional growth, which is why we seek a qualified part-time teacher to lead our English education program.

2. Purpose of the Role

The Part-Time English Education Teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality English language instruction to participants. The teacher will develop engaging curriculum, facilitate interactive lessons, and assess students' progress to ensure they acquire communication skills necessary for their future education or employment.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a structured English curriculum tailored to the needs of learners at different skill levels.

• Conduct classes focused on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

• Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles.

• Evaluate student performance through regular assessments, feedback, and grading.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Collaborate with other instructors and the Centre’s administration to integrate English lessons with other skill-building activities.

• Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and materials.

• Support students in improving their confidence and proficiency in English for personal and professional purposes.

4. Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master's preferred).

• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in English language instruction, preferably with diverse or underserved communities.

• Knowledge of modern teaching techniques and experience in developing lesson plans.

• Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.

• Patience, cultural sensitivity, and ability to engage effectively with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds.

5. Desired Competencies

• Strong organizational and classroom management skills.

• Passionate about education and community development.

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for preparing materials.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
