Request for Proposal (RFP) for Playground Development Work in Schools 

Background:  

Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3) is a leading national non-government organization dedicated to empowering women and girls across India. For over three decades, C3 has been working to address the challenges that girls and women face at various stages of their life cycle. The vision is an India where women and girls are fully empowered, equipped to realize their rights, access opportunities, and achieve gender equality

C3 believes that achieving gender equality is essential for national development, democracy, and progress. At the heart of its approach is close collaboration with government departments to strengthen the implementation of policies and schemes. By leveraging government programs, C3 scales its efforts and develops specialized curricula that encompass critical life skills, family life, and health education. The organization’s initiatives aim to keep adolescent girls and boys in school, prevent child and early marriages, promote gender equity, and reduce their vulnerability to exploitation and violence.

C3 invites proposals from skilled contractors for the playground development of two schools in Howrah, West Bengal. The scope of work includes site preparation, filling with quality sand, leveling, compaction, and final inspection to meet safety and quality standards.

Scope of Work for the hired contractor 

The playground work involves the following tasks for each site:

Site Preparation: Cleaning and leveling of the playground area.

Filling with Sand: Filling the specified area using quality filling sand.

Compaction: Proper leveling and compaction of the sand to ensure even distribution and a smooth surface.

Final Inspection: Ensuring the surface meets safety and quality standards for playgrounds.

Estimated work area: School 1: 18,000 sq.ft. and School 2: 5,200 sq.ft.

Proposal Requirements

Interested contractors are required to submit a detailed proposal including:

Contractor Profile: Relevant experience, especially in playground development and construction work.

Work Plan and Timeline: Detailed description of how the work will be completed, including timelines for each task.

Budget: Confirmation of the rates and total cost, preferably rate per sq. ft area

Compliance: Proof of adherence to safety and quality standards.

Submission Instructions 

Timeline: 45 days
