Brief of the Organization
Bandhan Konnagar initiated in 2001 is a non-government, not-for-profit social development agency that operates 6 flagship programs across 13 states in India. The organization works to address poverty and women’s empowerment. Bandhan Konnagar started as a micro-finance institution which later evolved into Bandhan Financial Services Limited and by 2015 received a license from RBI leading to the rise of Bandhan Bank Ltd. Today Bandhan Konnagar works in the areas of poverty, education, skills development, health & nutrition, safe water access, climate action, management courses, CBSE schools, and financial literacy and influences approximately the lives of around 26 lakh beneficiaries/households per year.
Bandhan Konnagar is a technical support partner of JEEViKA for the implementation of “Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana” (an initiative of the Government of Bihar). The project aims to alleviate extreme poverty among ultra-poor households and promote income generation activities among rural communities formerly associated with country liquor, toddy tapping, etc.

Key Role
Lead the development and implementation of gender strategies in the SJY program, aligning with the mandates of NRLM.
Integrate gender perspectives into all program components to ensure equitable benefits for women and marginalized groups.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance women’s participation in economic activities and decision-making processes.
Design and deliver gender-sensitive training and capacity-building programs for staff and community members.
Develop policies and frameworks to address gender issues and promote women’s empowerment within the SJY program.
Conduct gender analysis and assessments to inform program planning and implementation.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of gender interventions and suggest improvements.
Document and disseminate best practices in gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment.

Academic Background and Experience
Academic Background and Experience
Essential
Postgraduate degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields from a recognized university or institute.
Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience working in Government Agency / Society / NGO / Private Sector, with at least 3 years at a managerial level in gender-related programs.
Experience in implementing gender strategies, conducting gender analysis, and working with women’s groups.
Candidate Profile
Essential
S/he should possess skill for development of networks and clusters, conduct community events and programmes to create better collaboration and relations between industry, academia and relevant stakeholders to provide suitable platforms to sell products made by the program participants and to co-ordinate with other departments regarding event programs.
The candidate should have knowledge of gender concepts and understanding
Willingness to travel extensively even to rural hamlets for field-level monitoring, capacity building,
Willing to engage with the most vulnerable community members especially women in an empathetic manner.
Ready to adapt to complicated situations and also respond to situations in the best possible interest of the project.
Excellent Problem-solving skills with the ability to be a team player.
Knowledge about community institutions would be an asset.
Ability to grasp and comprehend data in a pro-productive way.
Demonstrate great interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
Commitment towards work, and completing project deliverables within the timeline.
Language and skills
Strong communication skills (both oral and written) in Hindi & English.
Adequate knowledge of MS-office environment is essential.
