LUCKNOW MAHILA SEWA Trust is a social service organization founded in the year 1992 with a vision to empower women from unorganized sector in Uttar Pradesh. It works on the issue of livelihood, self-employment, health, social security, Climate Action and other issues that impacts the lives of the women in Uttar Pradesh.

LMST facilitates SEWU and its members to raise their voices against any grievances (socio-economic) and also help them in accessing various schemes in accordance to their trade. The organization presently has a membership base of more than 3,00,000 women engaged in different trade.

LMST follows participatory approach for the social and economic empowerment of their members. It believes in three-dimensional approach of upliftment, empowerment and development of women in unorganized sector.

Job Description:

The Organizer (Field Study) has to work in Firozabad Urban and adjoining rural areas with women and their family members engaged in bangle work, agriculture and other livelihood activities focusing on climate change impact on their work. In the first phase the organizer has to do a study related to the impact of climate on the target beneficiaries.

Further after the responsibility of the organizer will be responsible for bringing women workers (beneficiaries) together to work towards a common goal of creating stronger and more connected communities, engaging and mobilizing individuals, stakeholders, and groups to address related issues. She has to work to build relationships with community members, understand their needs and concerns, and develop plans to address them through collective action.

Qualifications

Graduation in any stream or Bachelor’s degree in community organizing, sociology, social work.

Experience in community organizing or related field

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Hindi and English both written and verbal

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work collaboratively and lead diverse groups of people

Strong organizational and project management skills

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time

Ability to travel in field

Own two wheeler with valid driving license will given preference
