About Aasraa Trust
- Aasraa Trust was established in 2009 to work with society’s most underprivileged and vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Dehradun. Aasraa is not just a charity but a vehicle for empowerment through education,
- skills training, and nutrition, healthcare and shelter homes. Starting with street level mobilization, Aasraa uses a multi-faced approach that prepares children for mainstream education and transition to higher studies and skills training.
- Aasraa is certified by National Institute of Open Schooling and works with the education department of Uttarakhand to improve the quality of education at 9-government school in Dehradun.
- Aasraa is also implementing a Girl Education Program in four girls Inter Collages in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused and special needs children.
- Aasraa started 15 years ago with 35 children and it now supports over 11000 children from the streets and slums across 80 projects in Dehradun district.
Job Description – Operation Manager
- Purpose of the Job – To oversee and ensure the effective functioning of Aasraa Trust's operational activities.
Objective of the role
- This role focuses on coordinating programs, managing resources, and contributing to strategic plans to meet the goals of Aasraa Trust.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with program managers to ensure smooth operations of education, vocational training, medical care, and shelter programs
- Plan budgets and resources needed for daily activities with the support of project teams.
- Manage financial, human, and material resources effectively, working closely with the finance team.
- Prepare reports on program performance and share them with internal and external stakeholders.
- Visit program locations to ensure quality care and support for beneficiaries and staff.
- Ensure facilities and infrastructure, such as shelter homes and schools, are well-maintained and secure.
- Create and implement plans and processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align operations with organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Build partnerships with other organizations to enhance the impact of Aasraa Trust.
Note: Additional smaller coordination-related tasks may arise based on the Trust’s requirements.
Education and Experience requirements
Education Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Core experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing operations, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Preferable Knowledge/Experience
- Understanding of budgeting, resource management, and program coordination.
- Competencies Required
- Technical competencies: Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities and knowledge of financial and resource management.
Behavioral competencies: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Leadership and the ability to motivate teams.
