Deepalaya, a 45-year-old, leading NGO of Delhi with all-India jurisdiction, active in sectors like education, public health, institutional care, disability and women empowerment wants to recruit a Secretary & Chief Executive (S&CE). https://deepalaya.org

The S&CE will be responsible for overseeing the overall functioning of the organization. He or she will develop the strategies and policies required to ensure that the organization meets the goals set by the executive committee.

The organization works on principles of equity, charity and concern for the poor. It is a secular organization that employs around 350 persons. 

The S&CE will be an ex-officio member of the executive committee. The selected candidate will monitor the organization’s budget and financial activities. Such activities include analyzing the financial statements and reports.

The person will be responsible for complying with all government regulations under the Income Tax Act, the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act and similar laws in force. One of the main jobs of the S&CE will be to raise resources to run programmes, aligned with the organizational objectives.

The selected candidate should have communication skills in both English and Hindi, problem-solving, leadership, time management, decision-making and prioritization and delegation of authority. More important is the ability to take the whole team along. 

The S&CE should be preferably in the 40-60 age-group and have a postgraduate degree or diploma in social work or rural management, business management or related subjects. Experience in an NGO will be given due weightage. Short-listed candidates will be asked to present a programme that they would like to implement. This will be presented during the Interview.
