About ICS:

The Indian Cancer Society (ICS), founded in 1951 by Dr. D.J. Jussawalla and Mr. Naval Tata, is India's first national non-profit for cancer awareness, detection, treatment, and survivorship. ICS focuses on breast, oral, and cervical cancers, offering early detection services, especially to underserved populations, through centers and mobile camps. It also supports cancer patients with accommodation, treatment, rehabilitation, and survivor groups, manages cancer registries in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad, and publishes the Indian Journal of Cancer, the country's first indexed oncology journal.

About the Role:

A. Implementation of Medical Empowerment Program (MEP)

The Medical Empowerment Program (MEP) aims to involve General Practitioners (GPs) and Family Physicians (FPs) in cancer care, as they are often the first point of contact for patients, particularly in underserved communities. The program equips GPs/FPs with skills in early detection, treatment support, and post-treatment care, including palliative care, thereby improving cancer prevention, early diagnosis, referrals, and community-based care.

B. Supporting Medical Affairs Activities

In addition to MEP, the Project Manager will assist the Deputy Director General with other medical-related projects, including Cancer Awareness, Screening, Survivorship, and Rehabilitation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

Medical Empowerment Program (MEP)

1. Develop partnerships with medical associations to conduct MEP sessions with GPs

2. Organize and execute on-ground activities and sessions.

3. Develop a course for GPs in collaboration with academic institutes and associations.

4. Prepare proposals, donor reports, maintain MIS data, and content development.

5. Collect and compile monthly data from partners in the specified formats for reporting

6. Prepare budgets, reports, develop work plans, quarterly/annual reports, and newsletters.

Supporting Medical Affairs Activities

1. Activities at the new Support & Guidance at ICS, Parel, offering cancer-related information, counselling, seminars, and workshops.

2. Internal and external stakeholders meetings to implement projects like Cervical Cancer Elimination Programs and Cancer Survivorship initiatives.

3. Content writing for proposals, training, website publications, media

4. Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals.

5. Requires travel and availability on certain weekends for events.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the healthcare sector.

• Public Health qualification preferred (e.g., MPH, Medical/ Health related Diploma or Degree).

Required Skills:

• Experience in public health is preferred.

• Excellent networking skills with strong connections in the healthcare industry.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Project and stakeholder management experience.

• Knowledge in cancer care and related medical areas.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and minimal supervision.

• Proficiency in computer use (Microsoft Office, etc.).

Compensation :

• Salary will be commensurate with experience and previous CTC.
