Position Coordinator -Youth Programme
Location Delhi with periodic travel to other states
The Opportunity
Patang is at an exciting growth phase with plans to extend national reach, we have set up an office in Delhi. The Coordinator- Youth Programme, will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing youth engagement initiatives.
Two key aspects of the role are -
a) A key aspect of the role will be co-designing and leading a music fellowship programme for young people in Sambalpur, working with team members to develop a Sambalpuri musical Folk Band.
b) Additionally, the position holder will develop partnerships with NGOs and institutions to drive impactful youth development initiatives in Delhi and other states.

Patang has invested deeply in local leadership, expanding its footprint over the past two decades to become a recognized organization in civil society and academia. With a team of 35-50+ members and 100+ volunteers, we foster youth leadership through programs that promote alternative perspectives, cross-border understanding, and challenge stereotypes. As we continue to grow, we seek to enhance program management, grant management, and knowledge management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The coordinator – Youth programme position requires a dynamic individual who has a partnership orientation and will be able to build partnerships with NGOs and academic institutions to implement impactful youth programmes. The position holder is expected to undertake activities such as build partnerships, implement a music fellowship programmes and execute a gender course collaboratively for young people with like- minded organisations.
As the Coordinator- Youth Programme, you will be responsible for the following tasks :
1.Programme Design and Implementation
• Co-design and lead the music fellowship programme, working with team members to establish a Sambalpuri Folk Band.
• Work with NGO partners to implement the Patang gender course, ensuring effective delivery and engagement.
• Create platforms for youth engagement, participation, and leadership development.
2. Partnerships and Collaboration
• Develop partnerships with academic institutions and NGOs working with young people.
• Identify NGO partners, understand their work, and explore areas of synergy between Patang and the organization.
• Develop agreements outlining collaboration areas and partnership principles.
3. Budgeting and Resource Management
• Manage programme budgets and monitor utilization effectively.
• Maintain and update appropriate databases to streamline resource management and operational efficiency.
4. Monitoring, Review, and Documentation
• Ensure regular review and documentation of programme activities, progress, and impact.
• Circulate key information related to the programme with internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate joint reviews of interventions and create a platform for NGO partners to learn, share, and build knowledge on youth issues.
5. Organizational Participation and Capacity Building
• Participate in organizational processes such as training sessions, planning exercises, and programme reviews.
• Work closely with the Team Lead to establish and implement operational systems relevant to the programme.
• Engage in team retreats and institutional planning exercises to contribute to strategic growth and alignment.
Educational Qualifications, Skills & Experience
• A postgraduate degree in social sciences, development studies, performing arts (including music), education, or any related discipline, with 0-3 years of experience working with youth in creative mediums such as music, theatre, or community engagement.
• Strong partnership orientation and ability to collaborate with likeminded individuals and institutions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with young people and the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to multi-task, inspire openness to learning, think creatively, and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of social justice issues and commitment to youth development and empowerment.
• Willingness to travel extensively (including remote rural areas) and work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Experience in managing logistics, databases, and computer-based communications to support programme implementation.
• Commitment to hard work and accountability, ensuring programme success and sustainability.
We are looking for people who are willing to make a minimum of a 2 year commitment to Patang.
