Bharathiya Vikas Trust (BVT) was founded by late Sri T. A. Pai, former Union Minister and a great visionary of India. BVT during the last 40+ years has successfully implemented various projects of Central, State and Local Governments and national & international Developmental agencies.
The main mission of BVT is to bring a tangible change in rural life by focusing on developing solutions in areas of agriculture, governance, access to sustainable energy, education, self-employment, research and development.
BVT currently is looking for a dynamic individual with proven leadership skills, a keen interest to work on rural issues and a desire to take solutions to the most vulnerable communities.
Key responsibilities:
Identification and engaging with funding sources:
1. Understanding the internal demand for funding- projects and programmes
2. Mapping the various sources of funding and the approaches to fundraising with a focus on existing and future program strategy and its different aspects (hard and softer costs) Funding sources could include individuals, CSRs- Private and public sector, CSR platforms, crowdfunding options, Government sources such as DMF, Local area development, philanthropic foundations, trusts, etc. both nationally and internationally
3. Identifying those sources best suited for BVT programmes; establish contact and identifying networks through which contact may be established.
Developing engagement strategies and collateral:
1. Determining engagement strategies based on type of stakeholders and liaising internally to establish process for engagement- key contacts, appropriate timeframes and volumes of funding to be sought, steps and follow up actions
2. Developing collateral (building on what exists) for engagement with different categories of funding stakeholders
Sharing learnings:
1. Strategically track CSR and special similar project efforts across regions and focus areas (wellbeing, education, livelihoods, healthcare, energy, etc.)
2. Collate learnings from the work being done and generate monthly, quarterly and funder reports
3. Coordinate with senior managers and team members to share progress
4. Ensure projects are monitored and evaluated
5. Coordinate with outreach team members for proper archiving and dissemination of information
Key requirements:
1. Bachelors or Masters in Development/ Finance and Management/ Renewable energy or related subject areas
2. 7 or more years of work experience (preferably with experience in Fundraising, Corporate Social Responsibility)
3. Highly motivated, responsible, self-directed, resourceful and flexible; Ability to multi- task
4. Willingness to work with other team members; strong engagement, leadership, operational and coordination skills
5. Good Communication skills- on qualitative and quantitative aspects; Ability to work on budgets
6. Ability to bring information together in an easily readable form for a wide range of audiences
7. Willingness to travel to rural locations for 5-10 days on a monthly basis
8. Strong working knowledge of English; Additionally, spoken knowledge of at least one regional language would be desirable (particularly Kannada/ Hindi/ Tamil/ Odiya)
