Job Role: Fundraising/Communications Coordinator

Location: Bengaluru

ABOUT AWEKSHA:

Aweksha which means ‘CARE’, is a Bangalore-based women’s trust working towards ending all forms of gender based violence and discrimination. Although Aweksha is a near 2-year old entity, we come with up to about 42 years of experience of working on the ground providing moral, legal, social, psychological, and emotional support to women who are survivors of abuse and violence, particularly of burns or acid attacks.

Our primary focus would be to create resilient feminist networks that will act as support systems to survivors of any form of abuse. We hope that Aweksha can emerge as a safe space for women which would promote healing and recovery. Aweksha is a passion project which we hope will touch the lives of women across all identities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify potential sources of funding and devise strategies to engage and solicit support from various donor segments.

Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other grant-giving organizations.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of fundraising results to management and donors.

Develop a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the NGO's mission and goals.

Develop engaging and persuasive content for various communication channels, including websites and social media platforms.

Coordinate with program teams to gather information and stories about the organization's projects and impact.

Manage social media accounts, create engaging posts, monitor trends, and respond to comments or inquiries.

Support advocacy initiatives by creating compelling communication materials to influence policymakers, stakeholders, and the public.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree in a relevant field such as communications, nonprofit management, etc.

Previous experience in fundraising and communications, preferably in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of successfully securing donations and grants.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

Proficiency in grant writing and experience of prospect research.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and compliance with relevant regulations.

Strong storytelling and content creation abilities.

Understanding the issue of gender-based violence is a must.

CANDIDATE PREFERENCE:

Women and members of the LGBTQ*IA+ community will be given preference for the post.

REMUNERATION:

CTC: Rs. 6,00,000/- per annum
