Background:

Founded in the year 2012 by a group of young Doctors and some philanthropists, Swami Vivekanand Health Mission Society (SVHMS) is a non-profit organization continuing its mission of providing high quality health care to mankind.

The Society started its journey by establishing their first charitable project in the form of a small dispensary at Dharmawala, a tribal dominated village, situated 40 km from Dehradun, Uttarakhand and bordering the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

The self-belief of the Society to provide quality health care to the deprived, tribal, pilgrims and needy along with strong willed approach led to establishment of more hospitals in phases as well as the up gradation of the small dispensary of Dharmawala to a full-fledged multi-specialty hospital.

The Society with its vision and mission as the guiding principles also established charitable hospitals in three of the Char Dhams of the state of Uttarakhand. These are at Shri Badrinath Dham, Shri Kedarnath Dham and Gangotri Dham and are fully equipped with ICU facilities with staff trained in dealing with the problems of high altitude. The vast number of pilgrims visiting these shrines from all over the world used to suffer because of non-availability of quality health care and the morbidity and mortality at these shrines was worrying, the establishment of Society’s hospital at these Dhams brought down the rates by 90%. Presently, 12 charitable hospitals are being run by the Society, of which 11 are in Uttarakhand and 1 in Delhi.

SVHMS is hiring for the position of Social Media Coordinator (SMC) who will be responsible for and support all external communications efforts by the SVHMS through our website and social media channels of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The SMC will work closely with the Society’s leadership team to develop effective communication plans for further increasing the reach of the Society and will devise plans for the same.

Role Deliverables:

1. Social Media Management - Manage the Website and social media profiles for - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and other relevant platforms.

2. Content production - Write, create, and implement daily social media posts across channels of our activities inclusive of hospitals camps, community medical camps, community health programs, visits of dignitaries, celebration of festivals and events etc.

3. Develop messaging and communication materials targeted towards various audiences including healthcare providers, donors, and the general public.

4. Create high-quality communication materials, including press releases.

5. Content gathering - Liaison with our hospital managers to source, create and manage social media content and share the same on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

6. Work towards improving and increasing awareness, user engagement, online conversations, and website traffic through social media.

7. Ensure proper quality checks in accordance with Society norms across social media profiles to ensure consistency and adherence across social media channels. Ensure all content is verified and checked for due sources.

8. Undertake any other assignments, which may be assigned from time to time by the Reporting Authority.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in communications, preferably in the public health sector.

• Demonstrated experience in managing social media channels.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write and communicate information in a simple manner.

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

• Fluency in Hindi, English; knowledge of any other language will be an asset.
