Since 2009, Atmashakti works in Odisha and Uttar Pradesh with the broad objectives of creating awareness on rights and entitlements among the most marginalized rural community with an emphasis on Adivasis and Dalits. YOUR POSITION WITH ATMASHAKTI

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for providing assistance in planning and managing the optimization of digital content for different stakeholders of the organization. The incumbent will work closely with the communication team.

The Senior communications Manager will be functionally and hierarchically reporting to the Executive Trustee while will interact with team members in several districts. The position will be based in Noida, UP, India, with extensive travel within the state. During the engagement tenure, person may be required to relocate to any workplace decided by organization.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Communications Manager will work closely with the communications team to create engaging content for a multi-channel digital marketing campaign; collaborate and coordinate with multiple teams to provide regular updates about various programs, campaigns, and interventions; work collaboratively with the communications team to analyze key metrics of digital marketing campaigns and regular improvements based on the feedback; working closely with the team to:

1. Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure communication plans support overall business objectives.

2. Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of communication professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.

• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

3. Media Relations:

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts.

• Oversee the development and distribution of press releases, media kits, and other materials.

4. Crisis Communication:

• Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate potential reputational risks.

• Serve as a spokesperson during crisis situations.

5. Content Development:

• Drive the creation of compelling content for various channels, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand voice.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information for thought leadership pieces and op-eds.

6. Executive Communication:

• Provide strategic communication counsel to executive leadership.

• Assist in the preparation of speeches, presentations, and talking points for senior leaders.

7. Internal Communications:

• Oversee internal communication initiatives to foster a positive organizational culture.

• Ensure consistent and transparent communication across all levels of the organization.

8. Brand Management:

• Lead efforts to strengthen and protect the organization's brand.

• Ensure brand consistency in all communication materials and initiatives.

9. Event Management:

• Oversee the planning and execution of major events, conferences, and product launches.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event logistics.

10. Budget Management:

• Manage the communications budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.

The specific functions include:

• Generate brand awareness and meet business objectives through digital communication.

• Analyze, strategize and implement effective online communications on all social media channels.

• Evaluate and report monthly goals and outcomes.

• Ensure all content is verified and aligned to the organizational goals and brand values.

• Provide support and advice to other functions like programs, advocacy, and campaigns to develop social media and digital communication.

• Liaison with Regional and state teams to source relevant content.

• Provide support to other units (Media, Content, Brand/Events) with content development, ideas, and execution.

• Any other task delegated by the supervisor from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field is required.

• 0-2 years of entry-level experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. Candidates should be able to convey information clearly, concisely, and effectively.

• Strong writing and editing abilities are essential for creating various types of content, including press releases, blog posts, and social media updates.

• Familiarity with and understanding of various social media platforms is often required. Junior Communications Managers should be able to effectively use social media for brand promotion and engagement.

• Basic knowledge of digital media tools and platforms is important. This may include content management systems, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools.

• The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders is important. Junior Communications Managers often need to collaborate with colleagues, media representatives, and other professionals.

• Creativity is valuable for developing engaging content and innovative communication strategies.

• Strong organizational skills are crucial for managing multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines effectively.

• Paying attention to detail is important for ensuring accuracy in written content and maintaining brand consistency.

• The communications landscape is dynamic, so being adaptable to changes in technology, trends, and industry developments is important.

• The ability to think critically and solve problems is valuable, especially when addressing communication challenges or managing crisis situations.

• Familiarity with communication and marketing tools, as well as basic graphic design skills, can be advantageous.
