Plan India, a member of Plan International Federation, is a nationally registered independent child development organization committed to creating a lasting impact in the lives of vulnerable and excluded children, their families and communities.
For over 35 years, Plan India and its partners have improved the lives of millions of children by providing them access to protection, basic education, quality healthcare, a clean environment, livelihood opportunities and participation in decisions which affect their lives.
Plan with partnership with UNICEF going to support in implementation of various WASH program and operation in five district of Uttar Pradesh. In this regard, Plan India invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Technical Advisor-Sanitation to facilitate the WASH activates in the targeted districts
The consultant will have her/his duty station at Lucknow and travel to the targeted districts Ambedkarnagar, Faizabad, Sonbhadra, Bhadohi, Mirjapur and Jaunpur of Uttar Pradesh.
Level Of Contact With Children: 2 (Sporadic & occasional contact with children)
The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India?s Child Protection & Gender Equality Policies.
Scope of work:
? Manage and support District Consultants for better coordination with the district SBM-Team and district administration for speedy progress of SBM-G activities
? Working closely with divisional commissioner office to ensure regular progress review of SBM-G
? Support with District consultants to have accelerate ODF Plans based on review of AIP plans
? Working closely with district team to facilitate the development of Post ODF sustainability plans in all the six targeted districts.
? To ensure that all technical support is extended to the district in developing and implementation of district?s capacity building plans including training for Swacchagrahis, Masons and developing districts SBCC plan and its implementation, etc.
? Analyze fortnightly progress data based on MIS, spot checks and supervision and prepare divisional factsheet/score cards.
? Present divisional factsheet, bottlenecks and way forward divisional level meetings
? In coordination with District teams, ensure the documentation of case studies and best practices.
? Participation in review meetings with State SBM-G team, Divisional commissioners, DM and UNICEF,
? Conduct regular monitoring and review of progress on SBM-G at Divisional and District level and update to Divisional commissioner
? Develop quality progress report and sharing monthly progress reports and closure reports for all the districts with UNICEF,
? Conduct joint field visits with UNICEF and district/state SBM-G teams to review programme progress
Qualification & Experience:
? Post graduate degree in Social science, Civil Engineering or Environment Science with at least eight years? professional experience working on WASH sector.
? Understanding and experience of planning and managing WASH programs especially ODF sustainability and ODF+ activities
? Understanding of government structures, and processes preferably in Uttar Pradesh within Water, Sanitation, Panchayat Raj and SBM etc.
? Familiarity with the GoI flagship programs in WASH sector ; SBM,SBSV, NRDWP, SSA, NHM, ICDS
? Good analytical, communication skills, coordination and documentation skills
? Capacity building/training and project monitoring skills
? Fluency in English & Hindi with ability to read, write and speak.
The Contract will be initially till 31st July 2018 (with probability to extend subjected to performance and continuation of the project) from the date of recruitment and signing the Contract.
