With approximately over 300 staff, this NGO serves more than 47,000 beneficiaries.
JOB OBJECTIVE
The TB Unit Coordinator’s prime responsibility will be to steer the project of tuberculosis treatment in 2 units. Project management and implementation will be the key aspects of this position. Also, managing team of healthcare staff, timely training of the health staff, providing medical expertise, monitoring medical activities and ensuring highest standards of care will be quintessential for this project.
ROLE OF THE DEPARTMENT
The medical services in Howrah South Point are dedicated towards Tuberculosis treatment. These services are supported by German Doctors, partners for the aforesaid medical services of Howrah South Point. The organization through its medical services caters to the poor and needy who cannot afford regular treatment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Project management with knowledge on development work and drafting strategic plans
-Coordinate with GD long-term doctors
-Lead and develop a team of diverse staff members. Ensure timely training
-Being informed on applicable Government schemes and build liaison with Government stakeholders
-Responsible for strictly following procedures and medical guidelines concurrent with medical health
programs and services
-Implement and evaluate health projects, and monitor their progress to identify and rectify problems
-Assess current programs and ensure proper monitoring and evaluation
-Manage medical inventory and supplies. Ensure Quality Assurance with the upkeep of medical records
policies and procedures
-Delegate responsibilities for beneficiary assessment, treatment, inventory & disbursement of medicine
-Ensure timely reporting to International Partners and Administrator. Also, coordinate Partner visits
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
-Well-read with Public Health schemes and services, as applicable for Organization
BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS
-Must have excellent communications skills. Strong writing and presentation skills
-Experience in effectively dealing with international donor agencies, Government officials, and other NGO
-Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
-Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations
-Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively
-Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
-Skills and knowledge in program sustainability and capacity building, and project monitoring and evaluation
(both quantitative and qualitative methods)
-Proven capabilities in leadership required
-Strong negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills
IT SKILLS
-MS Office
-Medical Software usage (if used by the Organization)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
-English (read/spoken/written)
-Bengali read/(spoken/written)
- Hindi (spoken)
DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATION
-Master’s in Social Work/Master’s in Public Health
EXPERIENCE
-Previous NGO experience (minimum 2 years)
-Experience in assisting medical services (minimum 5 years)
-Prior experience in overseeing international donor participation
