About Didymus

Didymus CIO is a small, grant-making charity.

Established in 2013, Didymus has five goals:

  • To encourage social inclusion

  • To advance education

  • To develop the arts

  • To advance equality and diversity by creating opportunities for women

  • To promote religious understanding.

The Story Behind The Trust

Didymus is run by six trustees and is based in England. Our funding supports work in the United Kingdom, Africa, Central and South America.

As a small charity, we make grants of up to British Pund 5000 and prioritise charities with an annual income of less than British Pound 1 million.

We only accept applications from registered charities and do not fund individuals.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for a grant from Didymus, you must be:

    • A UK registered charity for 3 years, have lodged two sets of accounts with the Charity Commission, and have previously been successful in receiving funds from Didymus.

    • Applying for work based in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Africa or Central and South America

    • Applying for work that fulfils ones of our five goals

    • Applying for £5,000 or less

    • Have an annual income of between £20,000 and £1,000,000

Please note that there is no guarantee of repeat funding and applicants are not usually considered if they have received three previous awards.  We will only consider one application per grant round.

Our grant-making policy outlines our full eligibility criteria and application, monitoring and auditing policies. Please read it in full before you apply.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • If you are eligible for funding, the quiz will direct you to our online application page

  • Submit your application on the online application page. Please refer to our privacy policy before submitting your information.

Stage 2

  • All applications will be acknowledged by email and checked by the Trustees to ensure they meet the basic criteria for funding.

  • Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email.

Stage 3

  • Applications which meet the basic criteria for funding will be reviewed by Trustees. Applicants may be contacted at this stage for more information.

  • Applications will be considered at the next Trustee meeting. These take place in February, June and October.
