Students of class 6 cannot even read, apathy of Delhi's government schools

A hapless picture of government run schools in Delhi came in front, as around half of the class 6 students cannot even read while some can go through their Hindi textbooks or class 2 level English book, according to a government survey.
13 per cent could not recognise the alphabets, 67 per cent could not solve simple sums
The government survey report on 1011 schools, consisting of 201,997 students released on Tuesday. The report revealed that 13 per cent could not recognise the alphabets and 67 per cent could not even solve simple sums
Survey is conducted to improve the quality of school education
The survey is a part of government's initiative, Chaunauti 2018, focusing on improving quality of education in the government schools. On the basis of results, children will be given special lessons so that they can match up to their classes' level
The results of students from classes 7,8 and 9 were also examined and their results will be declared by the month end.
