PROGRAM MANAGER - SURAT

At Asaadharan, our goal is to cultivate a community of leaders dedicated to enhancing education in Surat's government schools. For the past seven years, we have been working in the education sector, positively influencing approximately 2000 children and 4064 teachers. This experience has inspired us to aspire to have a more significant impact on the education system. With our Asaadharan Fellowship initiative, we strive to work with children in-depth and support them to complete primary education with good grades and value-based learning. We want to do this through community-led leaders by training them on pedagogy and leadership and giving them a chance to enter the education sector and drive lasting change in primary education for all children.

In the next three years, we aim to work with more than 30 community leaders and more than 60 student leaders.

About the role:

Asaadharan is on the lookout for a Program Manager to spearhead our teaching methods and practices to the children in the government schools of Surat. Roles and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Program Responsibilities:

- Design and conduct training sessions both online and offline for edu-leaders and teachers

- Serve as a mentor/coach to the teachers which involves brainstorming with them for their classroom contexts, school visits, need-based learning experiences

- Monitor and evaluate programmatic outcomes and activities as laid down by the organisation

- Set periodic accountability measures for yourself and teachers

- Detailed level of documentation

- Collaborate and work with all the stakeholders and partner organisations

- Oversee all aspects of program implementation, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.

- Provide guidance and support to a team of edu-leaders, trainers, and volunteers to ensure program objectives are met efficiently.

- Prepare regular reports and updates for donors, partners, and government officials on program progress, achievements, and challenges.

- Will be responsible for working towards children excellence.

2. Developing self and stakeholders:

- You will be required to upskill yourself in the area of programmatic focus on a regular and need basis.

- Define excellence for self and stakeholders as they will learn from you

- A “self-figuring out” and “Can do” attitude is a must for the role

- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance program reach and effectiveness

- Identify training needs and provide capacity-building support to program staff and partners to strengthen their skills and competencies

3. Culture and collaboration

- Believe in all the values of the organisation and bring your own set of values to the space.

- Work on creating and maintaining culture in the classrooms, schools and organisation.

- Leveraging Asaadharan’s existing network of expertise and connecting with new ones

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Education, Development, or related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, preferably in the education sector.

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Pro at using Google tools and online platforms.

- Proficiency in English, Hindi (MUST) and Gujarati (preferred).

DURATION:

- Minimum commitment of 2 years required.

- The role requires you to start immediately.

REMUNERATION:

Rs. 360000 - 420000 per annum.
