Duration: 2 years (the selected candidate will be 3 months under probation period). Well performed candidate will continue job based on yearly appraisal process.

Eligibility criteria:

Qualification: Graduate in any discipline preferably in social science.

Languages known: Hindi and English. Reading and writing skill in Hindi is must. Knowing Tribal languages like - Oraon, Santhali etc. shall get preference.

Experience: 3 to 4 years experience in rural and semi urban Entrepreneurship initiative/training/handholding support preferably in micro finance sector

Job description:

• The Project Officer is meant for facilitating as Key person of Women Entrepreneurship-Livelihood Enhancement and Development, (WE-LEAD) Program. AMFI-WB with the support of SIDBI-SRF primarily aims at to promote sustainable livelihood solutions among women by staring and expanding micro enterprises and enhancing their household income. Experiences suggest that there is no dearth of potentiality in any given population, capable and willing to be involved in economic activities, but there is lack of integrated and need-based strategies, business development services, support and training program and paucity of skilled trainers, facilitators and teachers, which inhibits the efforts. It is envisaged that these initiatives will be of great help for the poor women clients served by various member MFIs/banks in the state. The Overarching Goal & Key Objectives of the project are given below, with Goal of Promoting 7,200 women Entrepreneurs from among the group/JLGs Members through Capacity Building-EDP/Skill Training & Business Development Services in Jharkhand.

• The Project Officer will be fully responsible to coordinate the project activities. Will be responsible for preparing the Monthly/Quarterly Progress Reports and other reports. He will be based out at Ranchi. The Project Team will work under the guidance and supervision of the Project Officer when CEO, AMFI-WB shall look after his activities.

• Visiting the AMFI-WB member origination including field when required in Jharkhand.

• Maintain all kinds of registers related to this project

• Email to all concern stakeholders of the project

• Interaction and meeting with different government officials, banking officials and project related stakeholders etc. and so on.

• Prepare all kinds of report, minutes through computer with the guidance of AMFI-WB CEO

• Any other responsibility deemed suitable by the AMFI-WB CEO related to this project.

Salary: Within Rs.36000.00 Per month (Negotiable - It may be more based on experience and other credentials).

About AMFI-WB:

AMFI-WB is an institution which endeavors to promote and develop microfinance in the state of West Bengal. Founded as a self-regulatory organization, and registered as a Public Charitable Trust in 2010, AMFI-WB encompasses a community of microfinance organizations that operate in West Bengal.

It was formed to deliver better services to the poor, thereby helping these populations improve their standards of living. AMFI-WB envisions a community of microfinance institutions who are committed to initiating a significant change in the lives of the poor, especially women. AMFI – WB currently caters to around 74.00 lakh poor women by providing them with financial services, especially micro credit. With a membership of 40 Micro Finance Institutions, bank especially micro credit through approximately 33209 employees who hail from lower economic background.

Their primary goals include: encouraging MFIs to maintain healthy relationships with banks, ensuring that MFIs stay on track and focused with the guideline prescribed to them, and mediating between various government officials and other important sector stakeholders. AMFI – WB regularly conducts stakeholder meets at the district level, management development programs for its members, microfinance industry-related seminars & workshops, and member meetings on matters of mutual interest.

Our Mission

The sole objective of AMFI-WB is to initiate a significant change by empowering the poor, especially women, who are socially disadvantaged and economically exploited. With this objective, AMFI-WB monitors MFIs to ensure that they are compliant with the RBI guidelines and that they adhere to the Codes of Conduct prescribed by the RBI, MFIN, and Sa-Dhan.

It boasts of being a ‘first-of-its-kind’ initiative in the state’s collective fraternity of key MFI players. It is a unique effort, and has been instrumental for the enhancement of income-generating activities among poor women through the help of microfinance services in the state.

Some of the objectives of AMFI – WB are:

• To coordinate with local bodies, NGOs, Panchayats, National & International Bodies

• To liaise and work in unison with the relevant regulatory authorities

• To make representations to regulatory bodies both at State and National level

• To engage in dialogue & make representations in front of the Government and Non-Government bodies

Kye Objectives:

1. To undertake awareness building programs on financial and business literacy, livelihoods and enterprise promotion among low-income group of people especially women Group/JLG members.

2. To strengthen the livelihoods opportunities for women and their households by creating new business opportunities and enhancing productivity of their existing enterprise through need-based business development and financial services.

3. Develop/ customize suitable EDP modules by reviewing the existing materials in the market and design suitable training manual, posters, toolkit etc. accordingly in Hindi.

4. To create a pool of local and community-based Resource Team-Livelihood Coordinators (LCs) and EDP Promoters on Livelihoods and Enterprise Promotion in order to meet the capacity building and business development services required for Women Group/JLG Members.

5. Impart customized trainings on WE-LEAD-EDP & Skill building to Women SHG/JLG Members and help enhance their knowledge on Enterprising Development & Management with inputs on business development services to pursue/expand their business activities.

6. To facilitate financial linkages, especially micro-credit for the potential women entrepreneurs with Banks, MFIs and other financial institutions so that they are able to start, expand and sustain their business opportunities.

7. Develop and suggest a suitable design for scaling-up of the program to other Districts/Blocks in the state at the need of the project.

8. To carry out lobby and advocacy with Govt. & Policy Makers by creating/ demonstrating positive impacts through these initiatives in the lives of women and their households through customized livelihood solutions.

Project Area, Target Group and Duration:

AMFI-WB proposes to implement the program in 6 Districts including 5 Aspirational Districts of the state as declared by the Govt. of India & Jharkhand. The names of the districts are: Ranchi, Hajaribag, Khuti, Gumla, Ramgarh and Lohardaga District. The Five Aspirational districts are - Ranchi, Khuti, Gumla, Ramgarh and Lohardaga District.

AMFI-WB has also planned to involve at least 10 MFIs/bank operating in the above districts. Women Members from various Group/JLGs served by MFIs are the primary target group who will be provided with thematic- EDP & Skill Training and necessary Business Development & Financial Services.

The project duration has been proposed for Two Years (24 months). Having gained the field experiences, findings of mid-term study, impact assessment and availability of resources, it may be extended to other areas-districts in forthcoming year.
