Organizational Background:
Jyoti Grameen Kalyan Sansthan is a leading voluntary organization registered under society registration act 1860, Reg. No. 364/94-95 on 25 July, 1994. Jyoti Grameen Kalyan Sansthan was promoted by a group of professionals in the year 1994 with its registered office at Ghazipur Uttar Pradesh initiated its activities with its capacity in Ghazipur, Varanasi, Allahabad & Gorakhpur districts of Uttar Pradesh and consistently in past 25+ years the organization has strengthen its capacity & expertise with the implementation of major awareness programs and activities pertaining to the empowerment of women and child, RCH, HIV/AIDS, poverty alleviation and other developmental issues. For the future too, the Jyoti Grameen Kalyan Sansthanhas made its plan of action and strategy to make all the interventions successful and a sustainable one.
Overview of Qualifications :
10+2 or above with at least 1 year experience in working with programmes related to HIV/Health/Livelihood promotion, adult literacy, microfinance, health sector programmes not merely awareness activities. Existing link workers who fulfill above criteria will be considered as priority Should be based in the district for which
applied. Should be willing to travel in the district extensively. Preference should be given to candidates having a vehicle for travel.
Roles and Responsibilities
1.Conduct village-level site mapping (vulnerability mapping, health services/facility mapping, and household mapping).
2.Understand the migration patterns (both in and out migration) in the local community.
3.Reach out to the un-reached HRIs/groups and vulnerable young people with information and skills relevant to HIV prevention and risk reduction.
4.Provide relevant information regarding condom use, using innovative means that are contextually, locally and culturally appropriate.
5.Work towards reducing stigma and discrimination in the community by facilitating involvement of HIV positive people, community groups like SHGs, PRI and VHSC, and bringing into focus and addressing gender dimensions of stigma and discrimination.
6.Advocate with identified stakeholders for creating an enabling environment (and reducing stigma and discrimination).
7.Maintain rapport with local health units and facilitate access to services.
8.Have knowledge about the key health facilities in the vicinity, at FRU and the district level, and possess necessary information about the services available at the identified facilities.
9.Work towards reducing barriers to accessing services and promote STI management and partner notification.
10.Coordinate the linkage between communities and service institutions (especially ICTC, PHC/CHC, RTI/STI clinic and district hospital).
11.Identify and train volunteers.
12.Collect monthly data from condom depot holders.
13.Prepare monthly reports for his/her area according to a pre-defined format.
Honorarium : Rs 6050/- p.m. + T.A.
