About SAATHII: Solidarity and Action Against The HIV Infection in India (SAATHII), a registered non-profit organization, envisions universal access to rights, health, legal and social services for communities marginalised on account of HIV status, gender and/or sexuality. Headquartered in Chennai, it has nine branch offices at Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, Jaipur, Ranchi, and Nagpur and Mumbai, and will be establishing office in Assam shortly.
About the project: SAATHII, as a development partner of the Central TB Division and Assam State TB Office, has established the State Technical Support Unit (STSU)in Assam for providing strategic support to the State TB Cell to manage large scale private sector engagement, strategic purchasing and effective contracts management, Direct Benefit Transfer, multi-sectoral collaborations, etc. This project aims to enhance the quality and coverage of TB control interventions in both private and public sector.
POSITION SUMMARY
SAATHII is currently seeking team leader for STSU, Guwahati, Assam.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
He/ She will lead, co-ordinate and supervise the multidisciplinary team for implementation plan for STSU in line with the TB elimination plan of Assam state.
1. He / She will be responsible for the overall execution of the assignment
2. Accountable leadership providing guidance, problem solving support and leading discussions with State TB Cell and State National Health Mission
3. Ensure all deliverables and milestones are satisfactorily delivered, leading to desired impact
4. Generate evidence for designing strategies, ongoing advocacy and implementation changes in the districts from primary to tertiary levels
5. Flexible in understanding the state’s expectations to design strategies and support the implementation of activities to achieve TB elimination
6. Advocate with state and private health sector stakeholders for policy changes and improving implementation efficiency
7. Provide insights from experience in healthcare projects with state governments, public private partnerships, and large-scale transformation engagements.
8. He/she will be the focal point throughout the assignment, and organise all key government and stakeholder meetings
9. Mobilise partnerships with larger private sector and engage communities for the cause of TB elimination
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL-SET:
1. Post graduate degree in Medicine/Public Health/Communicable Diseases and/or Business Administration / Hospital Management/ Healthcare Management (2 years Full Time- UGC /AICTE approved) and minimum 8 years plus experiences out of which 3 years relevant experience in communicable disease.
2. Understanding of the national TB program and private health sector functioning.
3. Ability to engage with stakeholders from multiple sectors of government, private health care providers, civil society and communities at district and sub-district levels
4. Familiarity with M&E and Research, and experience using M&E data in program management
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and working knowledge of local language
6. Willingness to be based in Guwahati and travel extensively (12-15 days/month) within the state, Delhi and other states as per the requirement of the project.
7. Sound computer skills, including use of Internet, MS Office™ software, and data analytics
8. Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex, multicultural environment
9. Ability to mentor individuals, and the teams
Indicative Salary Range: Rs 1.5-1.75 Lakh/month and the salary will be decided based on the last drawn salary as per the organisation policy.
