Position : Cluster Lead (Full time, 6 months’ probation period)

No of Positions : 2

Years of Experience : Minimum 2 years.

Location : West Karbi Anglong or Kokrajhar

Reports to : Program Manager, SELCO Foundation, Guwahati (Assam).

Starting Date : Immediately

Travel : 10-15 days of field work per month with occasional travel to HO and RO

Remuneration : Negotiable

SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that reduce poverty in under-served areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy for poverty reduction n. More than 500 million people in India live without access to reliable energy. It has been proven time and again that Sustainable Energy can be the catalyst for many of the poor and underserved communities to push them out of poverty by giving them tools for better education, access to cleaner fuels, better opportunities of livelihoods, improved health conditions etc.

SELCO aims to transform the efficiency of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) initiatives towards poverty reduction. It recognizes and is building on the potential of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) to develop scalable and inclusive solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• The incumbent will be leading a cluster level team having multiple adjoining districts with district level staff, that of grassroot NGO partners and other ecosystem partners.
• Facilitating, coordinating and supervising end to end implementation of SF’s plan in the cluster consisting of 2-3 contiguous districts in a timely manner.
• Regularly assessing performance, needs and gaps during programme implementations and facilitating corrective measures as required.
• Ensuring organizational implementation processes and guidelines are adhered to and escalating in cases where required.
• Coordinate with the State team and monitor all activities related to ecosystem development at the cluster/district level (Govt and Non Govt partners).
• Mobilizing the necessary work force on ground to ensure that all project implementations are achieved at high quality
• Supervising data collection, monitoring on ground implementation activities and preparing timely and accurate Project Progress Reports in consultation with the State teams and other team members of the cluster.
• Establishing a mechanism to improve effectiveness in the field and ensure greater coordination.
• Ensuring relevant information sharing internally as well as amongst the stakeholders.
• Organizing training and workshops in coordination with the cluster/ district team for end users and stakeholders for pre and post implementation capacity building.
• Liaising with local authorities and stakeholders as needed to facilitate achievement of project objectives.
• Identification and documentation of case studies in the cluster.

Key Requirements:

• The incumbent should have experience of working in the development sector.
• Prior knowledge or experience of working in various value chains, livelihoods, etc.
• Experience in team building and areas of project management.
• An understanding of and desire to work proactively to promote sustainable energy access for improvement of livelihoods
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Fluency in English and knowledge of other local languages like Assamese, Bodo, Karbi is preferred.
• Willingness to travel across difficult terrain in the cluster.
