Position Name: Project Officer

Digital Empowerment Foundation

DEF is a 20 years old ICT for development and implementing agency working across 24 districts in India and over 250 districts pan India, including North East India since 2002. It values information as key to access and empowerment of individuals, groups and communities.

DEF works on the basis of - Integrated Approach to ICT (IICT) framework / model in key sectoral programmes wherein ICT is integrated, embedded and enabled to address - critical information-communication related needs.

Location: Mysure, Bengalore of Karnataka

Required Qualification: Master Degree in relevant field

Required Experience: 2-5 years of Experience in Development Sector

Additional Requirements: Should be open to travel and candidate should have a two-wheeler with driving license.

Job Description:

• The Project Officer will be based in a selected district of Karnataka and should be open to traveling to other districts within Karnataka as per the project requirements.

• This role involves comprehensive project planning and design, collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

• Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, conducting feasibility studies, and performing risk assessments.

• In terms of coordination and execution, the role oversees day-to-day project activities, ensures adherence to timelines, and facilitates smooth communication between internal teams and external partners.

• Monitoring and reporting require tracking project progress, preparing detailed reports, and managing risks, with the ability to adjust plans when needed.

• The role entails maintaining accurate project documentation, implementing quality control processes, and conducting project evaluations for continuous improvement. Stakeholder engagement is key, acting as the primary point of contact and facilitating meetings to ensure alignment with project goals.

• Compliance and governance responsibilities include ensuring projects meet organizational policies, regulations, and legal requirements while adhering to best practices.

• Core skills required include strong project management, proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent communication, and analytical problem-solving abilities, along with the capability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
