Job title: Technical Manager Agriculture

IU/Dept: Deshpande Foundation

Reporting to: CEO

Location: Hubballi

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Create and structure experimental projects that align with the specific requirements of agricultural programs. Ensure that these experiments are in line with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, and contribute to both short-term and long-term outcomes.

• Oversee the daily functions and operations on the organization’s research & innovation farmland, this includes supervising staff, assigning duties, ensuring equipment and resources are used effectively, and addressing any operational issues that arise.

• Monitor, track, and report Progress of various agricultural initiatives and experiments.

• Carry out primary research and secondary research to support the development and refinement of agricultural practices and experiments.

• Organize and lead training sessions and awareness programs for both field staff and farmers, aiming to educate them on best practices, new technologies, and sustainability methods.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders in the agriculture domain, including government agencies, private companies, and NGOs to develop and implement programs.

Level/Grade: LX

Key Competency and skills

• Strong people management and leadership abilities.

• Proficient in report creation, budgeting, and communicating to senior management.

• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

• Experience in mentoring and working with freshers.

• Knowing Kannada is an added advantage.

• Frequent travelling to Hulgur.

Education and experience

• Minimum of Master’s Degree.

• 7 to 10 years of working experience in Agriculture sector.

Budget (CTC): Negotiable.
