Sarthak Foundation started with the belief that no child should be left behind for being born in economic and social disadvantage. With a vision to have Happy Empowered Children, Sarthak Foundation reaches out to children to make them self-sustainable through education, socio-emotional strengthening and skills so that they are able to break out of abject poverty. We reach out to more than 8100 beneficiaries, the majority of whom are girls, who are the most vulnerable to dropping out of education. Sarthak runs three key projects: Sarthak Yellow Rooms, Sarthak Gurukul, and Sarthak Yellow SLATEs. Sarthak Foundation is a registered non-profit working in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Primary Aim

The Course Head will play a pivotal role at Sarthak Foundation, contributing significantly to our impact. The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop engaging, easy-to-understand, interactive, and gender-inclusive course content tailored for first-generation learners. Our children range from Nursery to class XII, many being the first in their families to attend school. The Course Head will curate lesson plans using materials from various sources, including NCERT Books, Vikram Sarabhai Institute, Khan Academy, and Pratham, ensuring maximum learning outcomes and retention.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to plan creatively and prepare comprehensive, holistic plans.

• Collaborate with the senior management team to optimize instructional delivery.

• Develop engaging course structures and lesson plans for classes from Nursery to XII STEM part.

• Design interactive activities that complement the lessons.

• Creating Quarterly assessments for YR and Gurukul by thoroughly analysing the need. 6. Enabling the integration of Ed-tech platforms with lesson plans through a tech-savvy mindset.

• Review and finalise lesson plans and assessments prepared by Course Coordinators.

• Provide solutions to queries related to lesson plans.

• Prepare Training material for Educators Training to deliver classes effectively, following the lesson plans.

• Analyse and update lesson plans based on feedback and learning outcomes.

• Supervise Course Coordinators and guide them in improving the efficiency of lesson plan development.

• Maintain course structure datasheets.

Qualification:

• Experienced educators and academicians with a background in course development for school-going children and young adults.

• Good Writing skills and Team Management skills

• Comfort with basic technology such as laptops, tablets, office suite applications and project management software.

• Should understand how to use ChatGPT for integrating lesson plans. At least 5-6 years of relevant experience

Sarthak Foundation started in 2013 when an incident involving little children living in a Lucknow urban slum exposed Kshama, the Founder of Sarthak, to extreme hunger and abject poverty, somethings that are so pervasive and rampant that they have become part of the landscape and we don’t notice them even when they are right in front of us. She thought that imparting education was the only tool capable of bringing sustained changes in the lives of these children so she went with a slate and started teaching the children. What started with 6 children under a tree is today an organized, data centric and well managed non-profit running three long term, deep, immersive and impactful projects impacting more than 8000 children directly and 32,000 people indirectly.
