We are seeking a dedicated Warden cum Accountant for our boys' hostel at the Second Chance School. This is a residential job with the person living in the hostel premises, food and stay are provided by the organization.
The individual will be responsible for overseeing the welfare of the students, managing hostel operations, ensuring adherence to food rosters, maintaining cleanliness, handling medical emergencies, scouting for vendors, and managing purchase orders and keeping financial records.
The Warden cum Accountant will also play a crucial role in fostering a positive environment, acting as a role model, and ensuring students attend their classes regularly.
Key Responsibilities:
Hostel Management and Student Welfare (60%)
Oversee the daily operations of the boys' hostel, ensuring a safe, clean, and conducive living environment.
Enforce hostel rules and regulations, ensuring discipline among students.
Follow and manage the food roster, ensuring nutritious meals are provided.
Handle medical emergencies, including coordinating with medical professionals when necessary.
Act as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support to students.
Ensure students attend their classes regularly and manage attendance records.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the hostel, promoting values of respect, tolerance, and community living.
Administrative and Financial Management (40%)
Scout for vendors and manage purchase orders for hostel supplies and services.
Maintain accurate financial records of hostel expenditures, including managing budgets and processing payments.
Ensure timely reporting of hostel-related expenses and financial transactions to the administration.
Implement monthly forecasting of hostel expenses and minimize handwritten bills.
Open and manage a sub-account for Ritinjali with a transaction limit, ensuring proper tracking of transactions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social work/ administration or accountancy.
Knowledge of excel
At least 2 years of experience in hostel management, accounting, or a related role.
Age limit between 30- 45 years old.
Willing to live in hostel in Mahipalpur
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle emergencies and make sound decisions under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic accounting software tally.
A compassionate and empathetic approach towards working with young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds.
