Summary of Role

The Nursing Staff in a block-level position will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the project and achieving the desired outcomes at the local level. This role involves coordinating and executing activities, with a focus on understanding and addressing women’s and children health-related issues, as well as promoting relevant government health schemes for women. The Nursing Staff will utilize strong communication skills to collaborate with all stakeholders and foster good networking within the community to ensure the success of the program.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Consultations: To provide primary healthcare services, including maternal and child health care, family planning, promoting hygiene and sanitation, immunization drives, and raising awareness about nutrition and disease prevention.

Health Education: To Conduct health awareness campaigns focusing on maternal and child health, nutrition, and hygiene.

Nursing staff will organize blood tests, hemoglobin level checks, and other simple screening methods to identify individuals with anemia,

Based on the results of screenings, nurses will provide initial counseling on dietary changes, supplementation, and the importance of follow-up care.

Nursing staff will organize and lead educational sessions to inform the community about the causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment of anemia and other female and children-related health issues.

Responsible for the activities under the Women Empowerment project on the ground as per the Work Plan given by the coordinator.

Support to strengthen linkages with concerned Govt. Dept. /community health workers/ local CBOs / other stakeholders.

Ensure timely reporting as per required formats.

Any other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor

Qualification and Experience

Diploma or Degree in Nursing (GNM/B.Sc. Nursing) from a recognized institution.

Registered with the State Nursing Council.

1-2 years of experience in community health or similar healthcare settings is preferred.

Experience in maternal and child health is an advantage.

Basic knowledge of Technology (Basic Computer Skills, for creating reports, maintaining field data and formats good communication skills in Hindi language for the community, and basic English for the documentation will be given preference.

He/She should be comfortable in reaching out to various fields and locations for the reach.
