Job Description

Ibtada is a not for profit, non-governmental development organisation. Ibtada was set up in the year 1997, Ibtada an Urdu word that means 'the beginning'.

Vision: Ibtada envisions a society where poor and deprived social groups are economically, socially and politically empowered to take part in development processes and have equal rights and access to resources that abridges poverty, deprivation and discrimination.

Mission: Empower communities especially women to play an influential role to reduce social and economic poverty and inequality.

Ibtada works with rural poor households especially women inclusive of underprivileged and vulnerable families, SCs and ST and minority Muslims. Ibtada works on three major thematic areas: 1. Women Empowerment – women`s institutions led financial inclusion, strengthening rural livelihoods and facilitating access to entitlements, 2. Girls Empowerment and 3. Girl`s Education – Enabling Girls to continue their studies and improving their learning outcomes.

Position Objective

Ibtada is working on various program as part of Women Empowerment[1], Girls Empowerment and Girl`s Education in Alwar, Bharatpur and Dausa districts of Rajasthan and recently started its initiative in Jhansi and Chitrakoot districts in Bundelkhand area of Uttar Pradesh. The position is envisioned to provide leadership to Women Empowerment theme includes women institutions (SHGs and their associations), and strengthening livelihoods including agriculture, floriculture, horticulture, goat and poultry-based livelihoods and women micro enterprises and access to entitlement program of Ibtada. S/he will provide support to program/project leads on smooth implementation, develop new proposals, coordinate with team, finance, donors, and stakeholders, raise funds, manage budgets, evolve, and strengthen the program etc. and shoulder overall responsibility of re-shaping and growing Ibtada, improving HR systems etc., along with the ED.

 

Job duties and responsibilities

Program Integrator (PI) will provide leadership to program of Ibtada. S/he will lead the program with following responsibilities:

·       Providing leadership to the programs – Women Empowerment inclusive of women institutions (SHGs, federations), access to entitlements and strengthening livelihoods (farm, non-farm and women micro enterprises)

·       Working closely with program/project focal persons, providing them support for smooth implementation of the projects, resolving issues, understanding gaps, and finding way forward.

·       Develop monthly, quarterly, and yearly plans, periodic reviews, find way forward to address issues and gaps for under achievement, develop fresh plans by incorporating learnings

·       Managing and reviewing project/program budgets and taking corrective actions for efficient budget utilization

·       Coordination and liaising with donors, stakeholders, project/program focal persons, team members and community institutions

·       Facilitating development and regular updating of program operating modules, SOPs, training material, brochures etc.

·       Developing Ibtada as a resource agency for our domain expertise, developing and digitalization modules, sharing with external world, using digital platform etc.

·       Fund raising, continuously looking for new opportunities for submitting project proposals, developing project proposals through involvement of program colleagues,

·       Ensure data collection, entry to data base, analysis and generating reports

·       Capacity enhancement of team, organizing training, workshops, and exposures

·       Provide insights/inputs to team for smooth implementation of project activities, ensure community participation and functioning of community institutions

·       Providing required support to colleagues for resolving problems, conflicts, developing conducive relationships with stakeholders

·       Ensure periodic audits and verifying the status of operations, developing systems for maintenance of community assets/infrastructures created in villages, and continuity of community institutions

·       Prepare the required progress reports, donor reports and presentations

·       Represent Ibtada in meetings with stakeholders, donors, government departments etc.,

·       Provide support for upscaling Ibtada`s outreach and establishing programs in new locations,

·       Plan organisational development events, interventions and participate actively

·       Facilitating, revisiting and strengthening performance appraisals for Performance Effectiveness,

·       Facilitate documentation of various program, develop success stories, brochures, one pager, pamphlets etc., and posts in social media,

·       To carry out the responsibilities in a way which reflects Ibtada`s commitment to POSH, child protection policy, anti-corruption policy, Code of Conduct and HR and Personnel Policy

 

Decision making and authority

·       Make routine decisions for programmes,

·       Leading the projects /programmes of Ibtada.

 

Eligibility Criteria

·       Post graduate degree in Rural Management, Rural Development, Social work or MBA

·       Relevant experience of 15 years or more in field of women’s institutions and livelihoods

·       Good computer Knowledge of MS Office Packages

 

 Required core competencies

·       Problem Solving, Proven ability in team-building and strong organizational and interpersonal skills

·       Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written, in Hindi and English.

·       Attention to details and quality

·       Creativity and innovation

·       Self-confidence and ability to work independently.
