To create a global awareness on the preservation of monuments and heritage, National Monuments Authority has organized a Webinar in collaboration with ICCR (MEA) on “Protection of the Monuments and their significance for the Preservation of National Heritage” on 11th February, 2022, the memorial day of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay.

About 20 countries have confirmed their participation that includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, Japan, Iran, South Africa, Venezuela, Israel and USA.

This is the first ever global Webinar on monuments protection and has been scheduled on the memorial day of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay. A large number of scholars/diplomats have agreed to speak on the importance of protecting the national monuments and heritage sites and carry forward the memory of the people of the land etched on the monuments.

Minister of Culture, Tourism and DONeR, Shri G. Kishan Reddy; Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi; Minister of State for Culture & Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, M.P. and Chairman ICCR have will attend the inaugural session. Secretary, Culture, Mr. Govind Mohan will give the opening remarks.

Shri Tarun Vijay, Chairman of National Monuments Authority said “this is a very unique and unprecedented event inspired by the vision of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The response to it has shown that the culture is the biggest binding force in the world”. The webinar is open to scholars and interested youth on Face Book, Twitter and Youtube and will be held from 5.30pm-7.00pm –(IST) on 11th February, 2022.
