NGO holds signature campaign on voting

Lok Chetna Leher Punjab, an NGO, organised a signature campaign in front of the Mini-Secretariat on the Ferozepur Road for creating awareness among people to not vote for a party but individuals.
There are many social evils that have been occasioned by political parties to remain in power, said Amarjit Singh, general secretary of the organisation. ?The need of the hour is to see the credentials and work of individuals rather than voting in the name of political parties. Party politics has vitiated the political system and paralysed the democracy. For proper working of the democratic machinery in the state, people must become aware and active voters to punish the wrongdoers and vote for people who perform for the welfare of people and society at large,? he said. ?
