 Manager-HR

Action for Social Advancement (ASA) is a national level NGO head quartered at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh working for the livelihoods improvement of rural poor in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra and Gujarat since 1996. It works for ensuring livelihoods of poor small farmers, mainly tribal and women, involving activities of participatory natural resources development, agriculture productivity enhancement, Sustainable Agriculture and agribusiness development for small farmers. To know more about ASA visit www.asaindia.org. ASA is looking for a young and dynamic HR Manager with relevant experience.

JOB SCOPE

The Manager – HR will lead the human resource function. In this capacity, s/he will provide operational support, leadership, and strategic direction on HR issues, and help set HR policies for the organization and its entities. S/he will develop and implement a human resources strategy, under the supervision of the Director. S/he will develop the human resources function, recruit, develop and retain the necessary talent to meet the growing needs of the Agency/institution and its entities. S/he will manage a small team of HR & Admin professionals to deliver top quality workforce planning, recruitment, performance, development and talent management, industrial relations and effective legally compliant HR administration, payroll & HRIS systems. This will include planning, organizing, and monitoring all aspects of the HR function through regular reporting and KPI management. S/he will help support a work culture conducive to personal and professional growth while fostering a sense of cooperative endeavor within the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop and implement strategy for HR management (including recruitment, development of policy/ practices, discipline, Payroll, Compliances, grievance, counseling, contracts, training and development, moral and motivation, culture and attitude development and performance appraisal)

• Provide leadership and guidance to the HR function, overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits.

• Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the organization's human capital needs.

• Implement competitive and cost-effective compensation and benefits plan.

• Maintain awareness and knowledge of latest HR development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization.

• To create an on boarding package for the new joinees.

• Develop HR policies and procedures that facilitate development and retention of qualified and motivated staff, ensuring the promotion of gender equality and staff diversity.

• Ensure implementation and monitoring of HR best practices, policies and standards throughout the Agency/Institution to enhance performance and resource management.

• Plan for employee’s performance appraisal; develop tools for appraisal, job evaluation and development

• Should be familiar of Payroll administration and online HR Systems

• Ensuring prompt resolution of grievances to maintain cordial management relations.

• Liaise with other functional / departmental head so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of HR development, and to ensure they are fully informed of HR objectives, purpose and achievements

• Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets

SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

Education: Master’s degree in HR management, additional qualifications in Social Sciences will be an added asset.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience managing HR function, working knowledge of local labour laws and statutory compliances is a must.

Skills: Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, effective interpersonal communication, cultural sensitivities, excellent written and verbal communication in English, strong analytical skills, very organised, excellent coaching and mentoring skills.

Technical Skills:

Microsoft Office and HRMS

Personal Characteristics:

Demonstrates high integrity, able to deal well with ambiguity, works well under pressure, subscribes to the ethos and values of ASA.

• Recruitment agencies and other vendors

• Preferable from the NGO/Agriculture/Agribusiness organization
