Job Description

 A Block Coordinator is a direct interface with the Field Facilitators under HUL-PON project at the ground level. He/ She will be responsible to ensure that technical and creative design of HUL-PON project comes to life, by monitoring the vital connections made by Field Facilitators with Women (Pregnant Women in last trimester, New Mothers with children between 0-2 years and General mothers with children between > 2 -6 years) husbands of these women, Mothers in Law, frontline health workers (ANM, ASHA and Anganwadi Worker), key opinion leaders (KoLs) like Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members and school teachers in the village community.

The person will be responsible for a wide array of activities like monitoring the inter-personal counselling sessions conducted by Field Facilitators at the community level, back-checks of BCC tool distribution and their usage, observing activation events at the village level, to name a few. In addition, s/he will also manage orientation and sensitization of KOLs, as well as ensure that the target groups enrolled by FDs (Facilitator Duos) are able to complete the Mobile based services of the project. S/he will be responsible for random verification of data captured in the Tab by the FDs, IEC material distributed, collaterals and other program related resources distributed under the project. The BC will oversee and monitor the activities of approx. 15-20 FD teams working under the Project who are covering intervention villages in given blocks.

The BC will be enabler of positive behaviors related to nutrition and hand washing with soap, in the allotted geography through a team of FDs.

District:- Intervention districts in Gujarat

Eligibility Criteria

• Preferably in the age group of 23-35

• Should at least be a graduate

• Should have some experience in Social/Health & Hygiene/ Nutrition sector

• Should have experience of interpersonal counselling/ community mobilization or marketing

• Candidates from project district will be preferred

• Should own a smart phone and be well versed with phone, tab and using internet

• Should be willing to travel for 25 days in a month

• No criminal background

• Have a good moral character and passion for working on social issues

Skills required for the job:

• Possess good public-speaking and inter-personal skills

• Good relationship management and conflict-resolution skills

• Empathy and good counselling skills

• Candidates with sound monitoring skills shall be preferred

• Candidates with understanding about parenting, nutrition and hand washing with soap are encouraged to apply

• Good teaching, coaching and mentoring skills especially in adult education

• Treat people from all backgrounds equally and secular in approach with no caste and gender related bias

• Articulate, well-groomed and confident

• Comfortable with using mobile and online technology

• Candidates who know to ride a two-wheeler, will be preferred

Expected Deliverables:

 Observe the inter-personal counselling sessions conducted by FDs at the community level and share critical observations with the DC and SPO.

 Share the Scope of Improvement with FDs and ensure its integration in follow-up sessions.

 Verify the data captured by FDs in the Tab and share any gaps.

 Ensure the correct usage of BCC tools by the FDs during IPC session and their distribution to the TGs.

 Back-check of IPC sessions conducted, by interacting with TGs in the villages and to review if the TGs are using the tools as described by the FDs. Sharing the observations with DC and SPO and sharing of feedback with the FDs.

 Conduction of surprise visits to the intervention villages and see the teams are in place as per the route plan and activities implemented as per the action plan.

 Handholding of the FDs and building their capacities through demonstration of required skills and ways for any specific activity/ task.

 Follow-up and ensuring that the team completes their defined targets for IPC as well as TG registrations.

 Coordinate training/ orientation of different stakeholders (if needed),

 Assist the target communities in using the digital application, whenever required and clarifying any doubts.

 Operational activities as and when required.

 Extensive Travel in the field on all working days.

 Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Note: - Two-wheeler is compulsory. Knowledge of computer will be preferred.
