About the Project:

Government of Bihar has launched Mission Buniyad aiming to strengthen comprehensive primary healthcare services in the community by strengthening Health Sub-Centers (HSCs), Additional Primary Health Centers (APHCs), and Primary Health Centers (PHCs). GoB has conducted a pre-assessment of 3492 HSCs, 828 APHCs and 20 UPHCs running in the Department of Health’s building. The assessment was done to assess the infrastructure status, availability of basic amenities (functional toilets, drinking water, electricity etc.) and availability of human resources at these facilities. In continuation of this effort, the Government of Bihar has requested Jhpiego to conduct a post-assessment of 4340 Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) currently undergoing strengthening under Mission Buniyad.

Introduction about Jhpiego India:

Jhpiego works in India across various health areas such as maternal child health, family planning, comprehensive primary health care (CPHC) in collaboration with Government of India (GOI). 

In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, non-communicable diseases and digital health. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and other anonymous donors.
