Project Title: Challenges and Prospects for Safe Pregnancy Outcomes and the Impact of Malnutrition on Safe Delivery in Udalguri and Tamulpur Blocks, Assam
Introduction
Child in Need Institute (CINI), a premier non-governmental organization with a legacy spanning nearly five decades in community development and health services across India, is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from reputable and experienced academic/research organizations. The objective is to undertake a longitudinal research study focused on identifying the challenges and prospects for safe pregnancy outcomes and evaluating the impact of malnutrition on safe delivery within the Udalguri and Tamulpur Blocks of Assam. CINI's ongoing commitment in these regions involves two pivotal projects aimed at enhancing the health and nutritional well-being of mothers, children, and adolescents through comprehensive community capacity building and systemic strengthening initiatives.
Objectives of CINI's Initiative
To enhance access to quality health and nutritional services for mothers and children.
To elevate the level of health knowledge and awareness concerning Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) among adolescents.
Approach and Methodology
Prioritizing early identification and monitoring of high-risk pregnancies and nutritional deficiencies among pregnant women, adolescents, and children under five.
Strengthening the capabilities of families, community institutions, frontline service providers, and local self-governments in RMNCH+A.
Boosting adolescent capacity in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Life Skills, Gender-Based Violence, and Mental Health.

Purpose of the Assignment
This research study aims to uncover the multifaceted challenges and opportunities for ensuring safe pregnancy outcomes and to assess the impact of malnutrition on safe delivery practices in the specified regions. By generating actionable insights, CINI intends to contribute significantly to the enhancement of maternal and child health and to the broader public health knowledge base through publication in esteemed peer-reviewed journals.
Objectives of the Research
To identify and analyze the primary factors contributing to malnutrition in pregnancy and unsafe pregnancy outcomes
To understand the existing services available to pregnant women and children below 2 on health and nutrition and the range of services offered by CINI in promoting the overall maternal and child health package of services
To measure the effectiveness of CINI's targeted interventions on 1000 days in improving health and nutritional outcomes for pregnant women and infants
To develop evidence-based recommendations for addressing the identified challenges.
To disseminate research findings through publication in leading peer-reviewed journals.
Major Assignments for the Consulting Organization
Comprehensive literature review.
Development of a robust study methodology.
Draw representative samples.
Selection of intervention and control groups
Creation of effective data collection instruments.
Analysis of collected data to derive meaningful insights.
Preparation and presentation of findings to CINI management.
Drafting of a research article suitable for publication in a high-impact journal
Facilitate the publication in peer-reviewed journals of national and international repute.
Qualifications and Experience Required
A minimum of 12 years of experience in conducting similar research or consultancy projects.
Proven track record of research publication in the fields of health, nutrition, or public health.
Expertise in social science research methodologies, particularly in health and nutrition.

1. Timeline Flexibility:
A grace period of 5 working days beyond the stipulated timeline for the final report submission is allowed. Delays beyond this period will incur a penalty of 5% for the next 5 days and 10% for an additional 10 days.
2. Payment Method:
Payments will be made via A/c payee cheque or NEFT.
3. Tax Deduction:
TDS will be deducted as per the IT Act.

Shortlisted institutions will be contacted for further discussions. The selection criteria will focus on the organization's experience, the robustness of the proposed methodology, and alignment with the project's objectives.
