About Safe In India Foundation

Safe in India Foundation Background: SII is a community service organisation that was founded by a group of alumni of IIMA in 2016 in response to shocking evidence on grievous crush injuries to workers in the factories of the automobile component manufacturers. SII has since evolved in its mission through four social-impact areas: (1) assisting injured workers in accessing ESIC’s healthcare and accident compensation, (2) using this evidence to improve safety in the Indian auto sector benefitting over one crore workers, (3) drawing from its on-the-ground, enable improvements in ESIC processes, potentially benefiting over 14 crore Indians who are dependent (directly or indirectly) on ESIC, and (4) empowering workers through knowledge of ESIC and occupational safety.

About the role

As a Project Manager/Executive, you will be responsible for initiating, designing and executing projects related to facilitating advocacy of issues relating to improving Worker Safety in the Auto Sector and helping initiate systemic change at ESIC to help improve their quality of social insurance (healthcare and compensation)

Key responsibilities

Monitoring data collected by different activities of the organization, analysis of the same and developing communications for dissemination in the form of reports, blogs and presentations.

Assist in preparation of periodic reports like CRUSHED, SafetyNiti and ESIC with the assigned team within or outside the organization, end-to-end from finalization of contents/scope to designing and publishing.

Help in setting up or meetingto promote worker safety on the shop floors and enrich worker experience with ESIC through advocating the SII recommendations.

Manage inter/intra pillar team interactions for optimum efficiency and efficacy of the organization

Skills and Qualifications:

Necessary: Minimum 4 years experience including in consulting, project management and/or leading teams. Knowledge of data analysis tools and experience in report writing. Good communication skills, written and oral, in English and Hindi. Quality of work needs to be high to be credible for advocacy with the government and private sector.

Desired: Experience in the social sector, NGOs or consulting organizations with clients in the Social Sector.

Education:

Post graduate degree or higher in the areas of economics, sociology, psychology or management preferred but candidates with the right experience with other backgrounds could be considered.
