Position Overview:

The Enterprise Development (ED) Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the three thematic teams under the Enterprise Development division: Agriculture, Handicraft, and Incubation, which focuses on business development of women-led enterprises. Reporting to the Programme Lead, this role involves direct management of the individual team managers.

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies/Administration,, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred

Previous experience in overseeing projects or driving business development initiatives focused on women-led enterprises.

7-10 years in development sector, working with SMEs or women’s collective enterprises

Skills:

Proven experience in business development, project management, and team leadership, particularly in diverse and complex environments. Previous experience in working with women-owned businesses is preferred.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to assess and adapt to market dynamics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of managing teams effectively.

Familiarity with financial planning and goal-setting, especially in the context of women-led enterprises.

Foster a collaborative environment for brainstorming and ideation, encouraging the development of fresh concepts for business improvement.

Proficiency in setting up and optimizing systems and structures for operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Drive the strategic development of the Enterprise Development teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market trends.

Provide clear expectations and guidance to team members, leveraging extensive experience in navigating complex environments.

Project Management:

Define the scope and requirements of each business development project, including resource allocation and timelines.

Address challenges and unforeseen events, ensuring seamless project execution, and communicate project details to team members.

Financial Growth and Goal Setting:

Set ambitious financial growth goals for the teams, outlining clear targets to be achieved through women-led enterprises.

Systems and Structures:

Establish and enhance systems and structures within the team to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Fund Identification and Allocation:

Identify key areas requiring additional financial support and strategize for obtaining necessary funds.

Working Capital Management:

Administer working capital distribution, assess enterprise needs, and disburse grants accordingly.
