South Kolkata Hamari Muskan henceforth SKHM is a non-profit, front-line organization working within two red light areas of Kolkata; Bowbazar, Sonagachi. SKHM predominantly works with children, youth, men and women from these areas providing them with education, nutritional support and alternative livelihood support. The organization also works on helping these stakeholders finding an alternative method of living and earning. South Kolkata Hamari Muskan strongly believes that prostitution is an extremely objectionable practice and it violates basic human rights.

SKHM aims to eradicate second generation prostitution through main-stream education and vocational training through mainly two programs- PAMPERS & NURTURE. In addition to this, SKHM also supports women and men who are in either in prostitution or in allied or tertiary profession so that they can choose alternative livelihood for their well-being through providing alternative livelihood trainings and mental health support.

SKHM has safe centres in both the mentioned areas where children, women and men can access these safe places for developing themselves for alternative dignified lives. SKHM runs in-house training on tailoring, embroidery, stitching, food processing, cooking and canteen management, jewellery making and recycle and reuse product making so that women and men beneficiaries can choose a training option as per their aspiration and can start their own start ups after completing the training provided by SKHM.

SKHM is seeking a consultant trainer who will be expert in making recycle and reuse product and will be willing to work within Bowbazar Red Light Area and with the women and men of the community who will not be literate or semi-literate and marginalized community. If the applicant have experience in working within Red Light Areas will be good for the position.

The consultant will be expected to have aesthetics, patience to deal with the community beneficiaries. The consultant trainer will have to attend 4-6 days a week to train the trainees.
