Ibtada is a not for profit, non-governmental development organisation. Ibtada was set up in the year 1997, Ibtada an Urdu word that means 'the beginning'.

Ibtada works with rural poor households especially women inclusive of underprivileged and vulnerable families, SCs and ST and minority Muslims. Ibtada works on four major thematic areas:

Women Empowerment – women`s institutions led financial inclusion, strengthening rural livelihoods and facilitating access to entitlements.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND ROLE

Co-Lead Fundraising plays a crucial role in supporting the Fundraising Lead at Ibtada. This position involves working closely with the Fundraising Lead to achieve the organization's fundraising goals, which include generating revenue through CSR and foreign grants, major individual and HNI gifts, and annual giving. The role demands a combination of administrative skills, donor engagement abilities, and a deep commitment to the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Donor Engagement Support

Help in cultivating and maintaining relationships with existing donors. Assist in identifying and reaching out to potential new donors, including preparing materials and supporting communications.

2. Communication and Proposal Support

Aid in developing communication strategies and materials. Assist in writing grant proposals, managing grant requirements, and ensuring compliance with grant conditions.

3. Marketing and Communication Collaboration

Collaborate with the marketing/communication team to support campaigns and materials that promote Ibtada's mission and fundraising needs.

4. Synchronizing Programmatic Data

Work with various thematic teams in Ibtada, to align beneficiaries impact data and target data, for various proposals and Communication material.

5. Understanding Donor Ecosystem

Ensure alignment of donor expectations, collecting information about various donor organisations, develop a dynamic database of donors, call for proposals, various submission requirements and submission dates, and study the kind of initiatives that have been supported by various donors in the past.

6. Budgeting & Financial Management Assistance

Develop budgets in sync with the requirements of the thematic units of Ibtada. Develop costing templates for various activities done through different units, which can enable quick budget development.

7. Compliance and Ethics

Assist in ensuring that fundraising projects, proposals and requests adhere to relevant laws and ethical standards.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Excellent computer skills in word, excel and power point.

A thorough understanding of NGO culture and grassroot interventions

Skills to draft proposals, log frame formats, budgets and document donor reports. 

High learning and quality orientation

High ownership and accountability

Initiative taking, resilience, high problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to receive and act on feedback.

Positive communication and relationship building skills with stakeholders and teams.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Post graduate degree or equivalent in business management, rural development, social work or a similar qualification from a premier institute.

A minimum of seven years of experience working in the development sector in a lead role, with a minimum of three years in fundraising and donor management role.
