Job Description

ROLE: Data Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

REPORTS TO: Project Manager

LOCATION: Mumbai

Travel: Travel Upto 60% of the time within district and to state as and when required

SALARY RANGE: INR 4.8 Lac to 5.5 Lac per annum (depending on qualification and years of experience)

The niche for us in India is our concentration on child malnutrition in India, employing both nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific interventions. We operate in four states—Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat—encompassing.

1,266 rural and tribal villages and 160 urban slum Anganwadi centers.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Entering data from source documents within time limits.

• To ensure high-level of adherence to the data collection protocol

• To ensure completion of agreed task of data collection within timeline

• Compiling, verifying accuracy and sorting information to prepare source data for computer entry.

• Reviewing data for deficiencies or errors

• Correcting any incompatibilities and checking output.

• Updating Changes, Maintaining Sheets

• Organize Files and Paper Works.

• Classify and cross link data

• Formulate result report on suitable format

• Detect missing data or double entries and propose improvements

• Ensure accessibility and availability of information

• Check quality of data to be entered / entered and report any problem

• Estimate duration for entry data process and inform PM about data entry progress

• Complete and update database

• Create appropriate report to extract data result

• Classify computerize data and follow library of data collection;

• Proceed to regular back up for data and statistics

• Other timely tasks given by higher authorities

Data Quality Assurance:

• To maintain high quality of data by conducting back-checks (at least 15%) and spot-check (at least 20%) of data

• To review and edit all the data collected by all the members of her/his team

• To identify training needs of each of each field supervisor and community mobiliser

• To orient and hand-hold each field supervisor and community mobiliser to increase their skill

• To provide on-the-job training for newly staff Supporting Data Use:

• To conduct descriptive and inferential analysis of data as and when required

• To build capacity of Program team and government counterparts at the block level in use of data

• Understand data requirements of program team

• Support Program team in preparing district/block wise results.

Ensure overall data use at the district level Other Support:

• To provide support in conducting cognitive testing of any new instrument

• Primary data collection in case of urgency or requirement Conducting interviews of data collectors and preparation of monthly reports to provide feedback to State / HQ MEAL team on quality of data collection and for documentation of the data collection process.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

Master’s degree from a recognized University in one of the disciplines: Statistics, Social Work, Public Health Nutrition, Rural development, Rural Management or other Management Education with exceptional academic performance. - At least three years of progressively responsible professional work experience in leading research, monitoring and evaluation aspects of large- scale projects or programs

Preferred:

Experience of working with international development agencies at district state level - Experience of managing large scale data collection activity with any renowned and honorable organizations / institutions / efforts - Experience of working in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) program, Nutrition (or, at least any Public Health Program) - Strong understanding of Public Health Program (including ICDS) and exposure to different terminologies used in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) and Nutrition domain - Experience of team management - Experience of data analysis.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• High level of analytical ability

• High to moderate quantitative ability

• Ability to read, write and communicate in Hindi, English and Marathi.

• High level of efficiency in using MS Office-type of applications (Word, Excel and Power Point)

• Prior knowledge of basics of Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Nutrition and basics of research (OR, ability to learn these very fast)

• Good articulation skill

• Having eye-for-details

• High learning agility

• Diligence, Sincerity, Integrity and High Sense of Responsibility

• Initiative taking, self-starter, ability to work without external motivations; Pro activeness and openness to embrace new ideas and new technologies

• Innovativeness and creative in solving problems

• Demonstrated experience of surveys and research in participating to studies / assessments, development of instruments / tools, managing data entry and data analysis

• Ability to gather first-hand information about challenges faced by ground team in effective implementation of key solutions.

• High level of people management skills – good as team player and team leader

• Ability to work at high pressure environment – stretched working hours and flexible schedules in case of requirement

• Ability to travel within Maharashtra
