IMMEDIATE VACANCY

Project Background: In Madhya Pradesh, UNFPA has been working in collaboration with the state's Department of School Education and Directorate of Skill Development to address challenges and concerns related to adolescent mental health. In support of this effort, UNFPA supports the toll-free tele-counselling service UMANG Kishor Helpline, which offers psychosocial counselling services i.e. primarily to adolescent students and also to teachers, and families for the purpose of promoting mental health, sexual reproductive health and other range of adolescent health and well-being.

In the 10th Country Programme, UNFPA plans to support the provision of MHPSS services for adolescents and continue its intervention to strengthen the quality of telephone based MHPSS services (2023 -2027). In the 10th country programme, UNFPA has partnered with Child in Need Institute (CINI), which specializes in MHPSS and the delivery of counselling services through a helpline, to carry out the intervention throughout the state.

CINI's goal is to make communities and duty-bearers attentive to the needs of children and adolescents so that they can realize their rights to health, nutrition, education, protection, and participation. To increase the capacity of underprivileged communities, to enhance their health, nutrition, education, and protection-related outcomes, it has partnered with the national, state, and local governments, national and international funders, non-governmental organizations, and local communities.

Position Open: Tele Counsellor

Location: Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal

Number of openings: Multiple

CTC: 25,000 per month (Consolidated, Non-negotiable)

Educational Qualification

Masters in Psychology (preferred)/Social science/Public Health or any relevant discipline from any recognized University/Institute.

Work experience:

• Candidate should possess experience of working on adolescent health and Wellbeing issue for at least 2- 3 years in relevant field of counselling.

• Should have good understanding for at least 1-2 years on different SRH services and mental health for adolescents.

• Should have strong communication skills

• Should have familiarity with local language/dialects

• Should have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the services/policies for adolescents at State and National level.

• Candidates having training experience on counselling skills and techniques from any recognized institute will get preference.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide counselling support to the callers

• Maintain and update data of the callers on the software

• Assist supervisors and Programme Manager in report writing and other documentation

• Support for promotional activities for the helpline

• Develop promotional materials for the UMANG Kishore helpline

• Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor / organization

• Able to manage him/herself with calls from adolescents in a tactful manner.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a teams and flexible ways of working. The capacity to accomplish objectives and adhere to deadlines in a hectic environment. The capacity to come up with innovative solutions for issues that crop up during counselling sessions. Ability to manage stress in adverse situation. Adherence to all standards, practices and protocols regarding confidentiality and privacy of clients. Possess good skills in operating computers.
