About Shaishav:

Shaishav was established in 1992, as an organization committed to realizing the basic rights of children, particularly the underprivileged. We envision the creation of a society where each child achieves the potential she or he is born with, becomes independent, and contributes to the holistic and sustainable development of a world that is just, peaceful, and humane. Shaishav strives to: ensure that all children achieve the basic right to free and compulsory education; create a child centered environment and provide opportunities where children and youth can realize their basic rights; and develop learning resources for children and make them available to all those who can influence children’s holistic development.

Balsena

Balsena is the flagship program of Shaishav. It is a Children's Collective where children learn leadership and citizenship skills through a participatory process. Here children are the active participants who will be aware and empowered on the 4 children’s rights Right to Survival, Protection, Development and Participation so that they can take charge of their lives. Apart from real life projects on children’s rights, children will be given training on adolescent education, life skills, leadership skills, and Wenlido (Personal safety training to girls). This program has a unique approach of being “Preventive, Participatory and Transformational”. We have also launched A Leadership Academy which is open to all the children where we are planning to provide life skills training to the children.

Position summary Program Designer is one of the exciting and challenging roles in Shaishav. S/He are primarily responsible for preparing content and training facilitators by taking into consideration the dynamics of the program. Apart S/He will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing of the program implementation.

Responsibilities:

1) Preparing content for different activities under Balsena and the Leadership Academy programs.

2) Preparing Annual and Monthly plans of Balsena and the Leadership Academy programs.

3) Supporting program facilitators which include training the facilitators, observations of the sessions and giving feedback to facilitators.

4) Facilitate sessions during the major training and events.

5) Monitoring of the program implementation on the field.

6) Create templates for data collection based on the reporting structure.

7) Prepare Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual donor reports.

8) Be an active participant in all the team meetings.

9) Create and execute evaluation tools to capture the impact of the program.

10) Promoting Shaishav activities in social media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.

Note: Candidates are expected to take additional responsibilities on need basis.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

1) Candidate should be a graduate of any field with minimum 3 to 5 years of working with children through academics or non-academics.

2) Candidate should have good working knowledge of English, Hindi and Gujarati (preferred).

3) Candidate should have good computer knowledge of using MS Office, Internet etc.

4) Candidate with prior experience as a Teacher Trainer or Content developer will be preferred.

2) Ability to work independently without much hand-holding.

3) Candidate should be a flexible to the program dynamics.
