JOB DESCRIPTION AND ROLE
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the line manager, the Co-Lead will be responsible for the overall support of implementation of the ongoing programs/projects, performing a variety of monitoring and evaluation process within the program/project framework ensuring high quality and accuracy of work.
The Co-Lead facilitates knowledge building and knowledge sharing on MEL activities as well as collect and analyse projects and outside data, and surveys. The Co-Lead will work closely with all program and projects personnel and MEL team to ensure MEL requirements are fulfilled and the M&E Framework is reported against in a timely manner with required quality checks, following the highest standards in line with Ibtada guidelines and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the development, update, effective and efficient implementation of the program and projects Monitoring and Evaluation plans.
Assist in development of measurement and monitoring tools and identify data sources for program and/or projects performance and impact indicators.
Support establishment and coordination of effective mechanisms of monitoring the program/projects implementation including development of evaluation processes, innovative approaches.
Support preparation of the program/project(s) Monitoring and Evaluation Plan capturing qualitative and quantitative aspects according to the annual work plans and log frame.
Support the program/project team with data management and identifying programmatic/project issues and prompt corrective actions to enhance the program/project objectives.
Support the development and testing of MEL methods, revise and assist in the implementation of recommendations to improve the efficiency of current monitoring systems.
Collect data from the relevant stakeholders and conduct data analysis to measure the performance(s) against the indicators and targets.
Draft regular MEL program/project reports and assist the program/projects reviews and evaluations.
Support program/projects teams in conducting surveys, studies, assessments.
Identify and formulate lessons learnt and document best practices from evaluations and studies to be integrated into program reports.
Ensure that information and data from the projects activities is captured, documented, analysed and reported in a results-based and timely manner.
Assist in preparation of program/project’s annual and other reports.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
A thorough understanding of NGO culture and grassroot interventions
Understanding of monitoring and evaluation tools and systems.
Excellent skills in Microsoft excel and other relevant software.
High learning and quality orientation
High ownership and accountability
Initiative taking, resilience, high problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to receive and act on feedback.
Positive communication and relationship building skills with stakeholders and teams.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post graduate degree or equivalent in business management, rural development, social work or a similar qualification from a premier institute.
A minimum of seven years of experience working in the development sector in a lead role, with a minimum of three years in a MEL role.
