Pratham is an innovative learning organization created to improve the quality of education in India. As one of the largest non-governmental organizations in the country, Pratham focuses on high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions to address gaps in the education system. Established in 1995 to provide education to children in the slums of Mumbai, Pratham has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. Pratham is a widely recognized organization, having received notable awards such as the WISE Prize for Innovation, Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Henry R Kravis Prize in Leadership, and the CNN- IBN Indian of the Year for Public Service.
Project Summary
Gurushala was launched in September 2019 offering a variety of free high-quality interactive resources including online courses on innovative pedagogies, curated digital content aligned to the school curriculum and a networking platform for teachers across India. In 2021, Gurushala initiated its engagement with students through online assessments and a range of online classes for students. The program has aimed to positively impact the learning levels of students by training teachers to integrate technology and innovative group learning pedagogies inside the classroom. Gurushala, a mobile application, is an initiative of Indus Towers Ltd. and Vodafone Idea Foundation and is implemented by Pratham Education Foundation and is also available as a website. While continuing to provide resources, Gurushala is also looking to expand to a new target audience while deepening engagement with the existing target audience.
Position Summary
The associate for digital products of Gurushala will play a pivotal role in executing the strategic planning, development, and management of digital products aimed at enhancing the learning experience for both educators and students. This role involves overseeing the implementation of the programs aimed at enhancing teachers' as well as students’ skills. The associate coordinate with a team, ensuring high-quality delivery, ensuring conduct of impactful training sessions, workshops, competitions that foster innovative pedagogies and the integration of technology in the classroom along with effective monitoring and reporting to guage the impact. The incumbent will drive the product roadmap, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment of the products delivery with the programmatic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Partnership team to confirm training dates and requirements
- Build and maintain relationships with educators, schools, and educational institutions
- Establish a diverse pool of content creators, external experts, paid teachers, and other relevant vendors.
- Facilitate orientation sessions for experts and teachers to ensure alignment with program objectives and expectations
- Coordinate with both internal and external experts to schedule and host training sessions
- Assign training sessions to designated experts and furnish them with necessary information and resources
- Compile and distribute monitoring reports detailing aspects such as teacher attendance and session duration to relevant stakeholders
- Oversee the smooth execution of in-person training activities, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and quality standards
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of training-related processes, including participant lists, feedback, and session outcomes
- Monitor program performance against predefined targets and communicate progress updates to relevant stakeholders
- Establish and monitor key metrics to assess product performance, conduct regular analysis, and iterate based on data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement
- Manage communication channels such as WhatsApp groups for teachers, fostering collaboration and information sharing
- Update program trackers regularly to reflect the latest developments and milestones achieved.
- Ensure timely disbursement of payments to vendors, including external trainers and paid teachers, in accordance with contractual agreements and internal procedures
Required Skills and Abilities
- Required Knowledge o
Ability to understand market trends, customer needs, and business goals to develop a long-term strategic vision for the product aligned to capacity development of teachers and students
- Educational Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Product Management, Business Administration, or related fields. Additional certifications in training or education management are advantageous
- Experience
Previous experience of at least 8-10 years in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in the education sector. Experience in managing teams is essential
- Pedagogical Expertise
Strong understanding of pedagogical theories, National Education Policy, and contemporary teaching methodologies
- Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and English. Proficiency in additional languages will be preferred
- Technology Integration
Proficiency in leveraging technology for educational purposes; familiarity with educational software and online learning platforms
- Adaptabilit
Flexible and adaptable to evolving educational landscapes and receptive to feedback for continuous improvement
Working Details and Remuneration
- Remuneration will be commensurate to candidate’s experience and in accordance with the industry standards
- The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will have to travel regularly across the country
