Mitra Technology Foundation, a Delhi-based non-profit founded in 2001, champions social development across India. Through iVolunteer, it mobilizes 17,000+ volunteers annually across 12 programs. The Arogya project, launched in 2018 in Champawat, Uttarakhand through Mitra, collaborates with local government and Swiss donors to enhance rural healthcare. With a focus on community empowerment, frontline worker training, and infrastructure support, Mitra ensures sustainable health improvements in rural Uttarakhand.
Position – Area Coordinator
- S/he will be responsible for the overall supervision of the block. He will guide and support the MPWs forfield-based activities and will provide field-level coordination support as and when required.
- S/he will play a supervisory role in conducting field-level surveys and will ensure the back checks of collected data.
- S/he will be a part of the training team to provide refresher and on-job training to ASHAs and ASHA facilitators on home-based new born and child care.
- S/he will work closely with Community Project Lead to ensure the availability and replenishment of supplies under HBNC to ASHAs in the block.
- S/he will work closely with Community Project Lead and the Program Manager and will take lead in organizing and conducting the refresher trainings for the block.
- S/he will develop specific review mechanisms for addressing issues of incentives/
compensation for ASHAs on case management under HBNC.
- S/he will collect, compile block-level data and send the required data in the prescribed format to the Community Project Lead on a monthly basis and as and when required.
- S/he will ensure a smooth working relationship with health functionaries at the block level to strengthen the implementation of community processes. S/he will keep them informed and engaged by way of sharing updates in monthly review meetings and by making joint field visits to villages.
- S/he will plan and lead the implementation of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) activities and any other activity as and when required.
- S/he will ensure timely submission of monthly activity plans and accomplishments to Community Project Lead for self and MPWs.
- S/he will highlight issues related to the implementation of HBNC through ASHAs to District Coordinator that require district or State level advocacy.
- S/he will compile information onblock-level innovations and successful cases for wider dissemination.
Eligibility and Qualifications:
- Graduation or Masters in Social Sciences or any health-related field. Experience of working in MNCH and other public health programs and experience of working with government programs needed.
- At least 3 – 4 years of experience in management/ coordination of community health programs including experience in training.
- Ability to be located in and travel to remote and rural mountain areas.
- Preference will be given to candidates’ native to or familiar with the Uttarakhand region, with an understanding of local customs, languages, and healthcare challenges.
