Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Restoration & Resettlement

• Ensure the readiness, functional capacity of clients and prepare them for restoration/rehabilitation in the community and for job placement.

• Work closely with project coordinators, counselors, Police/NGOs/CBOs to locate address/family of the client.

• Carry out restoration procedure maintaining all formalities. Provide all necessary psycho- education and counselling to client’s family. Conduct community awareness and sensitization meetings to facilitate successful restoration.

• Ensure protocol for restoration and perform program departure procedures with clients along with the Shelter supervisors and Outreach Coordinator. Implement the payment of travelling support to needy families if needed

• Visit families of restored clients and reinforce their client management strategies.

• Ensure phone call follow-ups and home visit follow-ups. Each family within Kolkata and its adjoining districts must be met once every quarter. Each family in the neighbouring states must be met once in 6 months.

• Maintain contact with guardians, if present to ensure that no client terminates rehabilitation activities due to any external pressure and report on the progress, along with using inputs from the guardians for progress reports.

• Medicines supply and doctors check-up for each restored patient must be ensured.

• Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and resource information to clients.

• Explore alternative housing (group home living) and support clients to move to such arrangement.

• Identify potential clients for independent living set up at Kashipur and prepare them accordingly. Monitor their staying and attend concerns as needed.

Capacity Building and Employment

• Carry out assessment of the client’s abilities, preferences and potential capacity for training and employment purposes and develop an individual plan for each client in collaboration with team coordinators. Review plans monthly based on progress of each client.

• Organize supportive employment of the restored client in the community if situation allows.

• Motivate, and support clients to gain independent living skills, functional literacy, and vocational skills.

• Motivate clients to be economically active and facilitate engagement in paid employment.

• Provide coaching, emotional support, and soft skills training for appropriate workplace conduct, such as conflict management, problem-solving skills, and appropriate interactions with co- workers/supervisors to clients.

• Liaison with external training institutes and employments avenues, including community support systems and link clients to appropriate opportunities.

Govt. Entitlements and Social Inclusion

• Assist clients to gain access to education, care, entitlements and support services.

• Accompany clients to appear before government agencies in order to receive entitlements along with other project staff. Fill up required forms/documents and ensure receipt of entitlements.

• Conduct Awareness camps in the community of each restored client with the participation of Panchayat, municipalities, clubs and local leaders.

• Prepare awareness generation materials if needed for use during restoration visits.

• Provide support in advocacy, awareness and networking meetings with Govt. agencies, Panchayat, hospitals, NGOs, CBOs, Banks, community etc for entitlements and social inclusion.

• Ensure regular interaction with employers for retention and equal rights.

Documentation and Reporting

• Attend weekly house meetings with program residents and visit outreach clients.

• Maintain and update Client Restoration Register on weekly basis.

• Maintain documentation of all interactions with clients.

• Immediately report suspected neglect/abuse to Supervisor/Coordinator/Director.

• Attend and participate in program team meetings with Shelter Team, Outreach team and other teams.

• Submit weekly Restoration and Activity reports and monthly plans – detailing status of each client assessed for who Organize, confirm, and update information in resource binders.

• Submit documentation on each event (restoration visit, awareness meeting and related activities) within one working week.

• Maintain documents supporting protocol compliance.

• Prepare KAP administration, scale administration report, follow-up report, MIS, GID, VITS, case-study, donor report (narrative and quantitative), and medicine requisition.

• Attend agency-wide staff meetings.

• Prepare written and verbal reports as requested.

• Participate in agency wide long-term strategic planning.

• Participate in internal sub-committees set up for carrying out various organizational activities

Inter Team Support & Support to the organization as a whole

• Provide support to other project teams as required.

• Participate in event committee meetings and assist in organizational events.

• Participate in various trainings and workshops.

• Participate in various outdoor activities of projects.

• To carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
