Designation: Editor / Assistant Editor, Children’s Books

The desired candidate should be

• A good editor with a keen sense of story, storytelling and Poetic expression

• Resourceful and a keen-eyed scout of talent

• Able to lead and manage teams

• Able to visualize and implement innovative editorial projects/books

• Able to keep track of stories/developments; meet deadlines

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have

• A flair for writing and knowledge of current language use

• Good exposure to literary styles, genres and writing styles for children

• Ability to stay with a manuscript till it achieves the standards Katha is famous for.

• Strong sense of ethics and the needs of children.

• Good idea of writers, translators, and illustrators, and knowledgeable ways of working with creative people

• Excellent command over idiomatic/literary written English and Hindi / English and Tamil

• Sound knowledge of illustration styles and genre and what makes a children’s illustrated book attractive and able to enhance the joy of reading even as it sustains lifelong learning

• The ability to work in a 24x7 environment, when necessary.

Vacancies: 2 assistant editors (one preferably knowing English and Hindi very well and the second Tamil and English)

CTC : 35K to 50 K per month
