Introduction

Swiss Emmaus Leprosy Relief Work India (SEI) is an Indian development organization that works with a mandate to ‘create a world without leprosy’. For the last over 6 decades, SEI India has dedicated itself to improving and impacting the lives of people affected by leprosy and other poverty related diseases through social and medical rehabilitation services.

SEI India collaborates with both the Central and State Governments in the Leprosy Control Program. SEI India’s program presence focused on the southern states mainly the coastal states that coincidentally was also leprosy endemic states in India. The southern states included Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu where majority of the tertiary care services were provided to people. Additionally, as a founder member of the International Federation of Anti-leprosy Associations (ILEP) in India, SEI also coordinates the leprosy services in 3 northern states namely Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab, while at the same time implementing the Migration & leprosy project in 4 northern states of Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, & Uttar Pradesh. More recently, SEI is also expanding its field-based community development program for people affected by leprosy in Chhattisgarh.

The programs of SEI India are strongly supported by Indian supporters who believe that leprosy in India is an Indian problem and should be addressed by support from likeminded Indians who are keen to impact and change lives of other Indians. Currently, SEI India is eager to engage a Chief Operating Manager (COM) for its resource mobilization team of close to 60 associates and growing across 3 tier-1 cities of India namely Chennai, Mumbai, & Bangalore. This position will report to SEI’s Executive Director, with the duty station being flexible with the initial months to be located at SEI’s Country Office in Gurgaon for orientation. The candidate should be highly dynamic and with it bring along the following attributes:

• Should have extensive knowledge in fundraising in the not-for-profit space with special interest in creating social capital & impact for disadvantaged populations in India.

• The candidate should be socially oriented to empathise and care for people affected by leprosy.

• Should be a self-starter and be adept at learning and contributing to the nuances of fundraising.

• Should be self-motivated that should influence and motivate 60 other associates in the Department.

• Should be innovative and expand on the existing activities of fundraising in India.

• Should be a leader of leaders in the fundraising domain in India.

• Should possess advance knowledge and expertise in donor servicing, management, & retention.

• Advance knowledge in marketing and sales would be added advantage.

• Expert in human resource management.

Qualification & Experience:

1) Post-graduation in business administration, specialized in Marketing

2)5- 7 years of experience in similar field and in reputed institution

In addition, the candidate should also have extensive knowledge and experience in:

• Budgeting & finance in the resource mobilization domain.

• Periodic monitoring & supervision of planned fundraising activities with scope for taking corrective actions.

• Should possess advance knowledge in predictive modelling in demand versus supply.

• Should possess advanced knowledge and experience in accomplishing planned returns based on actual investments.

• Donor servicing, management, and retention of ardent SEI supporters.

• Manage a medium to large social enterprise.

• Should be mobile and willing to travel at short notice.

• Should be adept at publicity and communication to the constituents of SEI ardent donors.

• Fulfil other tasks delegated by the Executive Director.
