Project Manager - Solid Waste Management

About the Role

As the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in planning, implementing, and monitoring successful solid waste management projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from securing funding to ensuring project deliverables are met. This position requires a strong understanding of solid waste management principles and a proven track record of success in leading and motivating teams.

Responsibilities:

Develop and manage project proposals for solid waste management initiatives.

Secure funding from donors and government agencies.

Plan, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.

Lead and manage a team of field staff, including waste collectors, educators, and coordinators.

Oversee the implementation of solid waste management strategies, including waste collection, transportation, processing, and disposal.

Monitor project progress and identify and address any challenges.

Collect and analyze data to measure project impact and effectiveness.

Prepare comprehensive reports for donors and stakeholders.

Build strong relationships with government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

Conduct training workshops and awareness campaigns on waste management practices.

Qualifications:

Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Environmental Management or a related field.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in solid waste management project implementation.

Proven experience in project planning, budgeting, and monitoring.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience in grant writing and fundraising is a plus.

Experience working in the non-profit sector is a plus.

Fluency in Hindi and English is required.
