About the Project
‘SASHAKT’- Achieving and sustaining epidemic control in India through technical assistance to India’s National AIDS Control Program by strengthening the HIV prevention to treatment cascade under PEPFAR. . In collaboration with Technical Partners, SHARE INDIA aims to strengthen community engagement, particularly within Christian congregations, to accelerate the HIV response by enhancing Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) engagement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strengthen coordination and foster engagement in HIV response between FBO (Faith Based Organizations in Nagaland and Nagaland State AIDS Control Society
To Sensitize a network of Faith Based Organizations in the North Eastern States in preparing a directory
To Provide technical and monitoring skills on care and treatment services through hands on and on-the job mentoring during the visit to the ART center’s
Providing site-specific recommendations to the ART centers based on granular data analysis
In coordination with SACS identify key technical gaps and to conduct thematic trainings during the on-site visits
Identify IEC materials Accurate, credible key messaging on HIV to promote awareness for self-testing/ partner testing/ treatment literacy, etc. using faith leaders and community in local languages
To support and provide technical assistance as a model treatment centers sites
across NVHCP at respective government Hospitals where the screening for
Hepatitis B & C are being provided
Reports to the Senior Medical Consultant, and represent SHARE INDIA during technical proceedings and key stakeholder consultations
Desired Qualifications, skills and competencies:
Post graduate in Social Work (MSW) specific to health or preferably Masters in public health (MPH)Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in capturing success stories and public health case documentation
Excellent presentation and negotiations skills
Ability to operate with diplomacy and tact, seamlessly coordinating with Government officials, NGO partners, FBO leadership and PLHIV community
Observe religious and cultural sensitivity at all times
Experience:
More than two years in the field of HIV AIDS programme in prevention and Care Support and treatment
Experience in supporting National Public Health Programs and demonstrated expertise in building partnerships/ stakeholder management
This is purely a consultant contract and the period of contract would be starting from May 2024 and for a period of 5 months (September 30, 2024). The project is likely to renew, however, renewal is subject to grant extension and funding
Preference will be given to local candidates from the state, fluent in both English and Nagamese. The selected candidate will be stationed in Kohima and required to travel within Nagaland for field assignments.
