Pratham is an innovative learning organization created to improve the quality of education in India. Established in 1995 to provide education to children in the slums of Mumbai, Pratham has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. Pratham is a widely recognized organization, having received notable awards such as the WISE Prize for Innovation, Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Henry R Kravis Prize in Leadership, and the CNNIBN Indian of the Year for Public Service.

Project Summary

Gurushala was launched in September 2019 offering a variety of free high-quality interactive resources including online courses on innovative pedagogies, curated digital content aligned to the school curriculum and a networking platform for teachers across India. In 2021, Gurushala initiated its engagement with students through online assessments and a range of online classes for students. The program has aimed to positively impact the learning levels of students by training teachers to integrate technology and innovative group learning edagogies inside the classroom. Gurushala, a mobile application, is an initiative of Indus Towers Ltd. and Vodafone Idea Foundation and is implemented by Pratham Education Foundation and is also available as a website. While continuing to provide resources, Gurushala is also looking to expand to a new target audience while deepening engagement with the existing target audience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and organized individual to join our team as an Associate, Academy. The selected candidate will be responsible for mobilizing educational institutions, including private, government, and government-aided schools, as well as other organizations, to facilitate live classes for students. This role involves establishing and nurturing relationships with content creators, external experts, and expert teachers to ensure a diverse pool of resources for our programs. Candidate will facilitate orientation sessions for teachers, oversee the scheduling and execution of live classes, and manage communication channels for collaboration and information sharing among educators.

Key Responsibilities

- Mobilize private, government, and government-aided schools, as well as other organizations, to conduct live student classes

- Establish a diverse pool of content creators, external experts, expert teachers, and relevant vendors

- Facilitate orientation sessions for teachers to ensure alignment with program objectives and

expectations

- Conduct tech runs with school management for the smooth execution of live classes

- Schedule live classes and inform partners accordingly

- Create and share links for live classes

- Share the link with the coordinator and teacher before each class and ensure timely access for schools

- Ensure teachers complete trackers after concluding each class

- Share weekly reports with the school

- Coordinate with the technology team to address any technical challenges before or during classes

- Observe live classes and provide feedback to teachers on both delivery and content

- Manage communication channels such as WhatsApp groups for teachers, fostering collaboration and information sharing

- Regularly update program trackers to reflect the latest developments and achieved milestones

- Ensure timely payment disbursement to vendors, including external trainers and paid teachers, in accordance with contractual agreements and internal p

rocedures

Required Skills and Abilities

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or related fields.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively liaising with educational institutions, teachers, content creators, and other stakeholders

- The ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and communication channels efficiently is crucial for coordinating live classes and ensuring smooth operations

- Building and maintaining relationships with educational institutions, teachers, and external experts is vital for mobilizing resources and fostering collaboration

- Proficiency with technology tools and platforms is necessary for scheduling classes, sharing links, addressing technical issues, and updating program trackers

- The capacity to identify and address challenges, such as technical issues or scheduling conflicts, in a timely and effective manner is essential for maintaining the quality and continuity of live classes

- The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities is crucial in the dynamic environment of coordinating live classes

- Working collaboratively with internal teams, such as the technology team, and fostering collaboration

among educators through communication channels like WhatsApp groups is key to the success of the role

Working Details and Remuneration

- Remuneration will be commensurate to candidate’s experience and in accordance with the industry

Standards

-The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will have to travel regularly across the country
